why does everyone say to wean at the first hint of a problem!

lol just frustrated! tandem nursing a 9 month old and about to be 3 year old and called a breastfeeding advisor about some pain i'm having (only person i know locally that has nursed a toddler) and she said issues at this point aren't about nursing but are parenting issues and een if we figure out whats causing the pain the best way to treat it is to reduce nursing or wean for my big guy. ack i was calling for help not to hear its okay to wean. my lo is not ready and i think it would be wrong to stop him now (want to do clw, also dealing with daddy being deployed and big sis living in a different state :( )

so we'll get through this nursing bump but gah where is the support?

they don't have a local group but there may be one starting soon hopefully. there is a local breasting support group but they don't really support after one and we kinda got kicked out for not vaxing on schedule blah. thankfully the pain is getting better, but now i have two sniffly kids great lol

thanks for replying

ugh! well at least the pain is getting better.. have you tried breast milk for the sniffles? i put it in my kids noses like you would nasal drops or whatever and then suction it out or have them blow real good - it always seems to help with their moods if nothing else! it usually makes the constant runny nose & sniffles stop for a while .. its like magic or something ;)..  hope you get a local LLL group soon, you can always email or call a leader where ever the closest place is for specific questions
