Holy Ravenous Monster, Batman! - Page 2

OMG, my stomach is totally out of control these days.  I am like, constantly starving, even right after I eat.

I need some serious filling snack ideas, because there must be something that I'm missing in my diet or something.

Right now I'm snacking on string cheese, just ate a bowl of homemade beef stew, and ate a handful of almonds, and 20 minutes later, it's like my stomach is trying to eat my spine.  Doesn't seem to be protein related, and I don't think it's fat related, but it's not carb related either.

And I'm so sad, because apparently this baby just Does Not Like Fish.  I have tried eating tuna, salmon, and butterfish, and I am so incredibly nauseated afterwords that I want to just curl up in a ball and cry.  But no nausea unless I eat fish.

Give me some cheap snackages ideas that are good for hunger-quenching, please!

I'm planning on making more high protien snacks too... My meal plan this week includes prelate smoothies: frozen in jars, liver pate, bean dip and salmon croquettes. Other good protien snacks are quishe, meatballs (I can eat them both cold) jerky (Planning to make more soon) and then good old leftovers ( plus the basics: nuts, seeds etc)

Ooh - quiche! Yum!! I even have little mini-quiche pans so I could make a bunch & freeze them! I am also planning on making some black bean soup in my crockpot, either tomorrow or the next day. And, I want to make a big big batch of hummus to have on hand - can't keep paying $4 for a tiny tub of it at the rate I'm going through it!

Yumm... Mini quiche! You can also freeze slices smile.gif

I think next week I'll make hummus, I need a few more ingredients first.

I've also been doing stuffed eggs, my most recent was a sundried tomato stuffed egg.... yUM! So much better turn classic deviled eggs.

Today is my cooking day (I do once a week cooking and swap with a friend for help) and I am so excited! Lol. I feel silly for it, but mama's gotta eat!

I have been eating 7-10x per day, including in the night. Last night I was so hungry when I got up at 2:30 to use the toilet, but too tired and fell asleep, and when I woke again at 4 I felt icky for the first time. A 1/2 a twice baked sweet potato was hard to eat, but made me feel way better!

I'm only at 4 weeks and I have been feeling either starving or nauseous! Thanks everyone for giving me some awesome ideas! I'm a vegetarian, but I have been craving protein. DH hard boiled a bunch of eggs for me and we have plain Greek yogurt on hand for a quick snack. I have been making green smoothies every morning, but I also find that plain cream of wheat settles my stomach really fast in the morning.

My favorite dinner/lunch right now is a baked sweet potato topped with black beans, salsa and half a cup of lowfat cottage cheese! yummy.gif Filling and has tons of goodness in it (although I have got to watch the cottage cheese, it has a lot of sodium so I try not to eat it on days when I have already had other sodium rich foods). I try and bake extra sweet potatoes to have on hand to make if faster.

oooooh.  Sweet potatoes.

Yes.  I must get myself some sweet potatoes.  That sounds fantastic.

Yesterday I was really wanting some kind of pumpkin-peanut butter combination. So I found a recipe for Pumpkin-Curry Pasta Sauce (with PB) and made it for dinner. Seriously, it was sooooo good that I was swooning as I stood over the stove testing it (multiple time, tee hee). However, after a modest serving with rice pasta, I felt not-so-happy.

Guess I need to go easy on the curry. greensad.gif

i crave carbs and sugar too. but then if i eat them i get high blood sugar, racing heart, etc. i try to eat meat. regularly. esp chicken and steak. i plan on buying alot of steak, frying them up and then snacking on it throughout the day. that and goldfish and chicken crackers. i have frucotse intolerance so i cant eat fruit and hfcs, etc, and shouldnt eat sugar. usually milk gives me heartburn, but i have been craving milkshakes. so i got one last night. 20 min later my sugar was 214 and my heart was racing and i was sweating. i think i will stick to protein. it feeds your bodies need for glucose and has the added benefit of needing the extra stomach acid i seem to be producing.

For me, I can't get enough fish the last few weeks!  I have actually been eating less than normal because I feel full really quickly and stay feeling full for a while.  One of the books I have said that can happen because of the muscle-relaxing hormones....they also relax your GI track and slow things down.  This morning I had to get up right when I woke up because I was hungry and I know from my last pregnancy that if I don't eat right away, the nausea creeps in.

I've woken up 3 nights in a row to eat @ like 4am.  Which is why I'm up now.  Sheepish.gif

I had 2 LONG classes on Thursday (like 3 hours a piece) and needed to grab dinner in between.  Our first class ran over by 1/2 an hour and I felt so bad, like I was starving.  I need to make sure I start packing snacks for school!

Haven't really felt very nauseous yet- but sometimes I'll take a bite of something and then have to spit it right out.  I had hyperemesis with DS#2, so I would not mind skipping that this time around!  My stomach feels "funny" often, but that's about it.

This thread made me laugh. I like my due date mamas already orngbiggrin.gif

Add me to the list of those starving to death. Then I eat a normal amount of food and feel like I ate the side of a barn and will never want anything to eat ever again. Why am I getting sooo full with normal amounts of food? And the gross full feeling doesn't kick in until several minutes after I eat, which means I need to slow down. I really need to be eating small amounts of food every couple of hours, but who the heck has time for that?

I'm having just little waves of nausea a few times a day, but I can tell it's going to get bad, because it feels for just a minute or two just like I did when I was pregnant with my daughter (my sickest pregnancy). I was 6 weeks yesterday, so I'm expecting the ball to drop any day now. I'm also having to spit food out a couple times a day, because something I thought sounded good suddenly seems impossible when I'm actually tasting it. Aaaand I have the weirdest nasty taste in my mouth when I eat anything sweet (especially drinking Coke), and my toothpaste causes the taste, too. Anyone have that?

I haven't gained any weight yet, but I can only afford to gain 20 pounds AT THE MOST this time around, so I need to make careful choices.

I think we should amend the title of this thread to "Holy Ravenous Monster, Batman!- Oh, no, I have indigestion!"

LOL
