What can I put on my kids' dry, peeling feet?

My son has had peeling feet since he was an infant. I stopped using footed PJs because I suspected he was sweating and making the problem worse.

He's 3.5 and my daughter is almost 5 and suddenly the skin on the tips of their toes is peeling badly.

I've been using our Burt's Bees lotion on them but it's not doing much.

What would you suggest?  Cocoa butter?  Coconut oil?

Thanks!  :)

How would I know if it's fungus?  It's just on the skin above their toe nails. The nails are fine and the rest of their feet are, too. It's almost like I can see a layer or two of skin peeling off.

Does it irritate them? Or is it just peeling?

If it doesn't bother them, it's probably just overgrowth of skin in that location. I wouldn't worry about it unless it bothers them.

If it DOES bother them, I'd use olive oil, coconut oil or aveeno lotions (cuz they have oatmeal extracts) and slather their feet and put HEAVY socks on them overnight. I wouldn't use tea tree as it could burn if the peeling is causing sores.

It doesn't bother them.  But it bothers me!  lol  It looks like their feet aren't well taken care of and I know that's not the case.

I put some coconut oil on last night and regular cotton socks.  I am AMAZED at the difference already after just one application. Coconut oil really is amazing stuff, huh?

I guess I'll make it a regular part of our post-shower, pre-bed routine.

Thanks mamas!!  :)

ETA:  I'm going to use some on my feet, too cause they could use a little pampering.  ;)

I'll have to use coconut oil on my feet too- I've been using something I'm sure is toxic.  :)

I've always had that problem, I was diagnosed with eczema on my feet.  Of all places right?  I do use coconut oil and it does help.
