Hello all - I'm 33 Wks pregnant with my 3rd baby (dd was born at 35 5d without complications, dd born at 41 weeks) and was admitted 2 weeks ago for preterm labor (+fFN, 1 cm dilated) - spent 2 days on IV mag, got 2 steroid shots, then 2 days of just observation and was sent home when I had no further contractions (they never did another cervix check). So I've had the occasional contraction since, which they have told me to take nifedipine for (I've taken it twice when I had a few clusters of contractions at night). My midwife seems to think I would benefit from bedrest while the OB who admitted me and took care of me in the hospital thinks limited activity is sufficient. Had an u/s yesterday, cervix appears to be long (2.5 cm) and closed and they estimated baby's weight at 3lbs 13 oz (which sounds so tiiny to me!!). So I guess my question to you moms out there who had bedrest vs limited activity - does it make a difference? Would you have done one or the other of you had it to do over again? Should I take the nifedipine every night to prevent contractions (I usually feel them more at night) even though I am afraid of the effect on blood flow to baby if I take it prophylactically rather than when I feel like I need it?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
