Is there any hope for a viable pregnancy with a beta this low?

I just did an IVF cycle. My hcg beta 15 dpo/10dp5dt is only 38. Is there any way this could be a viable pregnancy? My beta with my first child who was also conceived with IVF was 312 so I have very little hope.

You are definitely in range for a healthy pregnancy!  

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

Remember each pregnancy is different even with the same woman.  The most important thing is whether or not you're doubling.  When is your repeat beta?

Thanks for replying. I just went this morning and it is 65. Not doubled. The nurse is saying it's not bad and to come back again on Monday for a repeat. I don't know what to think.

I've just recently gone through beta testing this past week, 2 tests in a 48 hour period... my betas didn't quite reach the doubling mark after that 48 hours, but the clinic wasn't concerned at all... and I saw online on a few sites that I looked at, that the doubling can occur after 3 days and it would still be considered just fine.  I hope that helps, in addition to the chart numbers that Kewpie posted-- it's really surprising how large of a range it is, heh?

It really depends with the time of day.  Did you have the blood drawn at the same time both times or was it at different times? Sometimes it takes a little more than 48 hours to double, I think I was told it can take closer to 3 days sometimes.  You're REALLY close to doubling, so I wouldn't be concerned about it.  The fact that you're not going down is very good! :)  Good luck on Monday!

Mine was only 42 at 14 dpo.  It's really more important what your doubling time looks like.  Don't lose hope yet!
