Getting my business license for my practice- LLC or sole proprietorship?

I can't decide which is better. it'll just be me and an occasional assistant or apprentice. Im a DEM working on my CPM but its difficult in my area. I am in southeastern Utah. Are LLCs mote complicated with taxes, etc.? I know they offer a degree of protection but is it worth it? does my practice need LLC after the name if i choose an LLC? just really confused. what do all you other midwives think?

 I am not a MW, but have worked for Dentists my whole working career.  They all chose LLC.  I believe it is due to if there was ever an issue... the person attacking you legally goes towards the company/business not you directly, cannot sue for your home, etc.
