Anyone out there experience implantation bleeding? I have with previous pregnancies, very clearly with my DS, and with one of my DD's as well. Trying for #4 now, am 5 or 6 DPO (temps were a little off because of waking kiddos), but def O'd late on 5 or on 6. I know you can't just look t one temp, but my temp yesterday was 98.01 and today's was 98.61. Very, very light pink spotting yesterday and the day before, and now I just had more today (still not a lot, light pink when wiping, but the most yet. This is not normal for me, as AF is not due for another 6-7 days. I am wondering if it could possibly be implantation bleeding...oh, how I wish it would be! I know it is really early for implantation, but I also know that plenty of women do have implantation on the earlier side with normal implantation in the uterus. I had two natural (non-medicated) IUI's, back to back, time as perfectly as possible this month. Anyone have definite experience with implantation bleeding? Is there any pattern to temps that go along with it? Thanks!!!!! Good luck to everyone this month!!!!!

Implantation bleeding?
My implantation spotting with my two pregnancies (one ended in early miscarriage, second was with DS) started on 10 or 11 dpo. At that time, I wasn't expecting a period until 14 dpo (now my LP is shorter so I would probably think it was just AF starting!). I have definitely heard of implantation spotting happening earlier though. Have you had IUIs before... and if so, have you had this spotting before? Just wondering if the IUI procedure itself could have caused some spotting.

I hope the spotting means something good for you! Good luck!

Implantation occurs between 6 and 12 DPO, but 84% of the time it occurs between 8 and 10 DPO, so 5 DPO is too early and while 6 DPO is certainly possible, statistically it's not what I would consider common. Are you certain of you O day? But beyond that, and not to be a huge bummer, implantation bleeding really is not that common despite what lots of people say on forums like these. This is NOT to say that you or anyone else who posted isn't or did not experience implantation bleeding!
But, what is way more common is bleeding around the time of expected AF or caused by fluctuations in hormones related to or not related to pregnancy. Implantation dips tend to be quite dramatic- dipping well below the coverline. Otherwise, when you get a smaller temp dip, this is often an indication of an mini estrogen surge, which can also cause fertile CF and spotting. Temp dips could also be caused by a dip in progesterone, which can also cause spotting. These fluctuations could be caused by pregnancy/implantation or not.Â

I know it's hard not to examine everything during the 2ww- I was the same way! But this extra scrutiny tends to lead to over analysis of your chart. There are many of this type of post in this forum you could search through and see all the answers, many of which say the same things happened to them and they ended up not being pregnant. It's frustrating, I know! Hopefully, though, you'll get your BFP in just a matter of days! FX!!!

Still waiting and wondering about this strange spotting...now 7 or 8 DPO (had some confusion with temps, so O was either CD 15 or CD 16...I tend to think night of CD 15 or morning of CD 16) ... anyway, now that a few days have passed, I know that I had the most spotting yesterday or the day before, or 5 and 6 days post ovulation (potentially days 6 and 7 post O)...yesterday was the day with the most spotting...darkish red/brown discharge and spotting, still only when wiping and "checking" for it a bit...thought yesterday that AF would arrive early for sure and that was it, but then by bedtime last night absolutely nothing. Clear. Same first thing this morning, but I can find the tiniest bit of light pink/brownish pink when I push up towards the cervix when wiping. No idea what is going on, and dying for the next few days to pass and see if AF comes on full blast or not. Either way, yesterday and the day before are strange spotting episodes for me. !!!

I'm pregnant right now and had implantation bleeding an absolute max of 5dpo. May have been 4. We only DTD once and I had a dating ultrasound so know I wasn't a month off or anything. It lasted for five or six days and pink, brown, and red. I thought I was getting a period but it was way too early, and then was thinking it might be some sort of problem, but turned out I was pregnant. Best of luck.Â

Thanks, APToddlerMama ! I am trying not to get my hopes up since I was pretty bummed yesterday when I was sure I had some strange AF coming a week early with how dark the discharge was. Still, it's hard not to hope...And I only had that tiny little spot of barely pink when wiping and really checking for it this morning...then NOTHING all day. Completely clear right now. Certainly not a period pattern...

Livelovelaugh- well, it continues to be my personal opinion that implantation spotting cannot occur prior to implantation and many studies have been done that conclude the earliest implantation can occur is 6 DPO (APToddlerMama and I have had this discussion before in another thread!
). So when spotting occurs prior to 6 DPO and continues I am inclined to think that it is hormonally caused and not from a burrowing embryo. However, what could happen is that you did not ovulate in line with your temp spike. There is evidence that there is a three day window around the thermal shift, so theoretically you could have O'd a day or two prior, putting your spotting within the implantation window. Your OPK's do not support this, but I don't put much stock in OPK's. Not sure about the reliability of the monitor.Â
Â
But, the funny thing about all pregnancy symptoms is that you can only really verify them in hindsight and so many times women will have these types of symptoms and end up not being pregnant. And there will always be someone that appears to be an exception to every rule. So in the end, it's a waiting game and ultimately what's important is your own interpretation of what happened. Good luck and keep us posted! FX for a BFP in a few days!!

Thanks for the input, Jaimee! Only time will tell in the end. FF actually gave me CD15 as my O day, but I got a confused a couple of things when entering temps, so when I entered what I thought was right it then gave me CD 16. Everything I was seeing suggested CD 16 for O day, but it may likely have been CD 15. Who knows. Statistics, well, you never know. We were told with DD2 that we only had a 1-2% chance of conceiving naturally, so...anyway, I will just have to wait and see if AF rears her ugly head!

Lol Jaimee...I know you just cannot believe it is possible, but I am absolutely certain it is. I know my body pretty well. OP--I didn't get a BFP until 10 DPO. That same day I had a blood draw and my hcg was only at 26. The line that day was sooooooo barely there that DH was not convinced it was positive, but it was. Good luck. I definitely thought I was getting a period or something was wrong.

ETA--and I started testing at like 5dpo...silly, I know!

Well, based on a few of your previous charts, you tend to have an 11 day LP, correct? That makes this temp dip a little less likely to be AF related and more likely to be an errant dip. One temp does not make a pattern, so you're totally right, you'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. And really, this is a much more likely time for implantation to be happening and that can cause a mini surge in estrogen that lowers your temp and gives you a bit of CF. FX for high temp again tomorrow!
