Congested but no snot up there!

I have an 8 month old who is getting over her first bad cold. Last week she was super snotty and coughing a lot. Now, she seems pretty much better on that front, but still has this strange congestion happening WAY up in her nose. When we Nurse it makes this awful catching sound up there and makes it hard for her to eat and to breathe. I've tried the aspirator but nothing comes out! Any advice on how to loosen stuff up up there? She doesn't seem too bothered by it, but of course this mama hates to hear it. Also, she keeps rubbing her eyes and nose all the time, but that may be teething. Think she's getting her top ones in. Any advice appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry to hear... that is no fun.

Have you tried massaging her sinus?  I found that helped my LO a bit.  I would also suggest taking her in the bathroom, running a bath or shower and sitting in their until all the steam has dissipated. 

Do you have a wood stove?  We just started ours up again and have found my 26 month old is a tad snotty now.
