Long Island mama! New here!

Hi All!

I am new, been lurking for a bit, just decided to join.  I have a 13 yo DD. We stopped vaxing at 6 months, and will no longer continue.  I am also pg again and due in March! He or she will not be vax'd either. So glad I started doing my own research.

I'm so excited to find a little Long Island community that shares my views.  I also need to find another pedi.  I am being "fired" from my practice.  After my daughter's DTap shot, she reacted very very very poorly.  The pediatrician felt it best to wait on vaxing for a while - I agreed!  So, I started researching, and at her one year I told them I no longer want to continue vaccinating at all. I was then fired.  So, I met with Dr. Rubin, she is the most ill informed disrespectful doctor ever. IMO.  Sure she will tell you she doesn't mind spreading out, but won't let my unvaccinated kid near her "healthy vaccinated" patients, because I am a danger to them..blah blah...

I have heard about VIPediatrics, I am not sure how they feel about new patients that come to him because they are not vaxing.  Dr. Tomei, may be a bit far.  I live in Carle Place, Nassau County.  Any input would be great!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!  :-)

I am not too far from you (Lynbrook) and i am also due in march!  We see Dr. Rosenberg at VIpediatrics and I love him.  he has never said anything to us about not vaxxing and is very willing to have an open conversation about vaccinations if you choose to get one or all.  I highly recommend him.  There is also Dr. Mokides in NHP that people seem to like but i didn't like her at all!

good luck!

Diana
