I love Declan, too!!  I have it picked as my third boy name but hubby doesn't like it.  But I keep telling him, we will never get to 3 boys anyway, or I will kill myself, I need a girl by then RIGHT!!  Hahaha, our first 2 boy names we both love, Declan is my own personal third boy name but I am hoping to bring him over to the Declan team if/when we ever have a third boy hahaha!!!  It would be Deacon, Draven, and Declan!  I dunno why all our boy names start with a D, it just kinda happened... weird huh!?!?

Is it weird that after reading about that comet that survived it's journey through the sun, I am now feeling a serious urge to name this baby 'Lovejoy' if it's a girl? smile.gif

We seem to have a rule of not discussing any serious name ideas for a baby until after six months...since we never do...but I am leaning intuition-wise towards this one being a boy and we have NO boy names. None. For a girl I totally like Lovejoy today, but I've told dh i already picked out a girls name...I Don't know if I'll get away with it, but I love the name Lena Caroline. I've always liked the name Lena (it has good associations for me - don't ruin it ;-)) and Caroline...reminds me of that David gray song and also Caroline Ingalls who is the kind of capable, gritty woman I would love for my daughters to emulate...

We don't share name ideas with anyone IRL because it tends to invited asinine opinions and commentary...smile.gif but Ddc is ok, I think. smile.gif

My daughter's name is Alena, and we call her Lena. :-)

I am not going to share my chosen name with DH until baby is born... or thereabouts.  I am going to wait for him to bring it up....

Good idea. Let him see you go through all the hard work and pain it takes to birth a child and then spring it on him that you want the childs name to be something along the lines of Magoo Alexander.

lol just teasing you

hahahaa!  It has a lot to do with his personality, he has no interest in discussing names right now.. and I am pretty certain of one first name.  So it would be showing my cards if I tried to bring it up now...

Maybe by 7 months or so he'll want to discuss it...

I need advice- honest advice. I am still loving Rebecca June for a girls name but DH and I have stumbled upon Marigold and we are loving it. It is a way for us to use Mary like we so desperately want to. We were hesitating because her name would be Mary Murray but now it could be Marigold June Murray. What do you think????

Aha! I knew there had to be a names thread. So I am x-posting this...

DH and I want to use a different name, something that is off the beaten path. So we picked the name Zenevieva which we think is pretty( Its ok if you don't like the name, I know its different.) We thought we could call the baby Zen for short.

We told family yesterday and to say they were shocked was an understatement.  We got all sorts of are you joking comments and then my sister butts in to say well as long as we don steal here baby name, Tatum, then she didn't care. Yuck tatum is a street where I live and would never use it.

I'm just glad we finally picked a baby name that no one would rip off. My sister in law has stolen 2 of our names so far.

What do you think of it? Its too weird?

I'm not sure how to pronounce it, but I like the way it looks!

Thanks! I am not sure if its pronounced zen-neh-vee-EH-vah or  Zen-neh-vee-va, but i like the first way best.

I would go with Marigold!!! So cute!

What language is zenevieva? I see some NN possibilities there ZEn, evie, eva...to me it sounds like zen-e-V-vah

LOVE Marigold!! Go for it!

Goddess, I have a cousin named Zeneba and she goes by Zen. Zenevieva is cute...just so long! It reminds me of Genevieve which is also cute.

Yeah its a bit long, but we will will use the shortened version. I have never met someone with this name and I am so excited Dh is on board with it. Now if we find out that this one is a boy we are stuck, LOL!

I like Rebecca more but both names are good.  Do what feels right!!

I really like the name Rebecca, but LOVE Marigold. Beautiful! Love how the full name sounds.

haha I totally though Genevieve b/c that is my babcias name!

I love both Marigold and Zen!  Zen will be a difficult one growing up with, but luckily you have plenty of nn options with it, and I can totally see it on an adult.  But that reaction is absolutely why we wait until after birth to share our name choices.

I'm a little shocked by all the Marigold love! DH loves it and I am shocked because I believe that I suggested it 5 years ago for DD and then quite possibly 3 years ago. If we find out on wednesday that it is a little girl, then I will have a tough decision to make. Has anyone ever known of a little girl named Marigold? Being from Canada, we used to have this show when I was little called Polka Dot Door and one of the puppets (an adorable red haired little girl in a dark green dress with marigold's on it) was named Marigold. The puppets never spoke aloud and the host used to say "What's that Marigold?" and lean in to hear her "whisper". It was cute!

Marigold is such a lovely name! Someone here needs to use it so that I'm not tempted.
