Why does my 7 mo. daughter have more accidents when wearing a diaper?

We started ECing my daughter when she turned 3 mo old and it's been going great, until now... 

Now that the weather is getting colder we've been putting her in trousers (with training pants with a prefold diaper inside), and it seems we are having accidents all the time!  What happened?  Does EC only work if she is naked?

And if so, how can we keep her naked in the winter time? 

Any help is greatly appreciated...feels like we're reinventing the wheel out here.

Well, they can learn that going in a diaper is an alternate acceptable place to go, so maybe your DD has figured that out.  Or maybe you aren't paying as much attention when she is diapered and dressed.  Or maybe your DD is getting more busy in her world and not paying as much attention to when she needs to go...

If you want her more naked, you could go with legwarmers and socks and dresses.

could be the pants (my son was like that) but also it could be her age. I noticed my daughter had periods of many more misses as she was going through other developmental leaps. Is your DD recently crawling? teething? starting to babble more conversationally, point, or communicate more clearly? Stuff like that can affect their elimination patterns as well. I think of it like their brain is busy with some other new skill for a while. Similar to how their sleep and eating can get out of whack when they are learning big new skills.
