Does anyone know how much Nanette Jenkins charges for a home birth? Does her price include ultrasounds and blood work? Thanks!

I would call or email Nanette to ask about fees and what that includes. I know what I am paying, but I am transferring care to her at 34 weeks, so I'm not sure what the fee would usually include. She is a great at responding to calls and emails, so I'd just contact her! You'll love her and Liz!

Looks like the contract you have is just about accurate for her. She's amazing, you'll love her. I just gave birth with her attending on the 18th. She and Liz O'Shea just partnered up, so there may be some changes (I never met Liz and the majority of my care was before their partnership). I would agree with the other poster, call her and talk to her about it, she was very open about her fees when I contacted her originally. She doesn't work with insurance but she does work with a billing company who can submit charges for you for at least out-of-network reimbursement.

Nanette Jenkins' global fee is $4000. I just had to switch to her from Evelyn. That 4k includes:

- $500 non-refundable retainer fee

- Comprehensive prenatal visits including at least 1 home visit @ 35-37 weeks

- Continuous labor support, birth care, and immediate postpartum care for mom and baby

- Postpartum visits for mom and baby @ 24-72 hours in home, 1-2 weeks in home, and 6 weeks in office

- Midwife availability during office hours until week 37, 24/7 throughout the pregnancy for emergencies, and 24/7 from 37 weeks on.

- Filing of state official birth certificate and collection of initial metabolic screening of newborn (PKU)

She explained to me that at a typical birth she, Liz, and one of their assistants will be present for support.

The global fee doesn't include:

- Birth kit (which is $100 if they must supply it)

- Birth pool rental (which is $250)

- Non-routine or extra visits

- Medications

- Lab work and referred services (including blood work and ultrasounds)

- Non-stress tests and post date monitoring

- Any hospital charges

- Any EMS charges

- Independent childbirth class fees, doula fees, etc.

I agree with the other posters though, just give her a call. I plan on using her billing service so that my insurance will pay for at least something.
