Had baby girl alone in the tub this morning while DH was taking DD to preschool. We were at 39 weeks even. DH came home, yelled "ok let's go to the hospital," and got the shock of his life finding both of us in the tub. On the advice of the midwife we called for transport to the hospital after everything was over. We are doing great. If I ever do this again it would probably make more sense to just plan a homebirth though!
Zoicks! 2 hr labor, surprise UC!!
Thanks everyone! I posted the birth story in the Birth Stories forum.
Um, honestly I had an overriding desire to just be alone under the water, and under no circumstances in any kind of moving vehicle. I rode to the hospital while pushing for my last baby and it was the most physically unpleasant experience of my life (or maybe second next to crowning with that baby).
I didn't have brain space to feel anxious until the baby arrived, and then I thought, what am I going to do if she doesn't breathe? Luckily she was fine and didn't need any intervention, thank goodness.
