Is there a traditional foods friendly bean dip recipe out there? Its something we've gotten many times in resturants (which I now try very hard to avoid). and I'd love to be able to make it at home.

As I understand it, any bean recipe can be traditional foods friendly as long as the beans are pre-soaked.
I make both Hummus and Frijoles with pre-soaked beans. What did NOT work for me however was soaking the beans with a bit of acid like vinegar as it is recommended in the bookNourishing Traditions. This was a real cooking disaster and the beans never got soft. Instead I did as mamas in this forum suggested and soaked the beans with a bit of baking soda instead.
