greetings to everyone in the netherlands. Â i was hoping someone in this forum might be able to help me find a gynecologist in amsterdam.
Â
a little backstory:  i am an american woman who has a civil partnership with a french woman.  we live in france where it is illegal for lesbians to receive any kind of help in getting pregnant.  only heterosexual couples are allowed to see fertility doctors, receive sperm donation and get ivf.  my wife and i have been trying to get around these limitations by using our own donors and doing inseminations at home.  our gynecologist has helped us a bit (prescribing clomid and ultrasounds), but it appears she won't help us any further.  my attempts to find another gynecologist who would be willing to at least give me some tests have also failed.  i'm 39 and my partner is 41, and we very much want to start our own family before time runs out.  french law doesn't allow us to adopt, so having our own child is our only option.  i'm very very frustrated and more than a little frightened that this country's outdated laws will prevent me from realizing my dream of being a mother. Â
Â
so this brings me to amsterdam. Â i will be there in about two weeks to visit a friend, and i thought that maybe i could get an appointment with a dutch gynecologist to discuss my situation. Â i know that the netherlands is light years ahead of france in terms of equality and open-mindedness. Â i don't, however, have any idea how to find a good dutch gynecologist and make an appointment. Â would any of you be able to help me? Â any suggestions are welcome.Â
Â
dank je wel in advance!
