slow head growth?

I am puzzled as to what could be going on with my LO. The doctors seem to think that she is having food allergies, but i am afraid it might be something else? My LO has had some food reactions since about a week after she was born. (green mucuosy stools with blood) she is exclusively breast fed.  in general however, she seems to be a very happy baby, is meeting all her milestones, and sleeps beautifully thru the night. She started off life in the 50th percentile for weight, 60th for height, and 98th for head. She is now in the 8th percentile for weight, 50th for height, and 60th for head. She is only 12 weeks old. I was worried she might have a metabolic disorder of some kind, but she got the newbown screening at birth and all came back normal. The doctor suspects that i could possibly have leaky gut due to the results of my IGg allergy test. What could be going on with her? I've never heard of slow head growth due to food allergies. Has anyone else experienced this or something similar that could help me understand what could be going on? TIA

could it be that everyone just grows differently or somebabies follow their very own curve? I am a very small woman, i only weigh 99 pounds and am 4'11. could it just be that she is small too and since she started off life with such a big head, her body is now evening itself out????

A couple of things jump out at me. Green stools can be a sign of a foremilk/hindmilk imballance, though the bloody part does indicate a food sensitivity/allergy. Have you tried an elimination diet to figure out what that could be?

Secondly, as the mom of  a child who is growth hormone deficient, I wonder if your DD could be as well. My son didn't drop off the curve at quite that young, but I know of other GHD kids who have. Ours went from around 50th% for everything down to being 1st% or lower. His growth stalled at about 9 mo and he just steadily lost percentiles. We finally got a diagnosis just before his 3rd birthday. He was a great nurser, and once he started solids, ate like a horse...but continued to grow ever so slowly.

Can I suggest you go to the MAGIC Foundation website and look around? They are a wealth of knowledge and support for children with all kinds of growth issues! magicfoundation.org
