Recent labor and delivery experiences with Avalon Midwives

I am currently 27 weeks along with my third baby and I am looking for feedback on recent experiences women have had with using Avalon Midwives for labor and delivery. I am currently treating with the same OB who delivered my two children but I am seriously considering switching over to Avalon. Before I make that decision I wanted to hear some experiences that women have had in the past year using Avalon. I plan on using the birth tub so I would love to hear about experiences with Avalon and the tub. Thanks so much!

I had 2 babies with avalon. The first was with Donna, who I liked during pre-natals, but not during my labor. The second baby was with Shawn and was a fantastic water birth. I showed up at the hospital, jumped in the tub and had my baby 45 mins later. Shawn only did 5 mins of fetal monitoring (vs 20...which I think is hospital policy) let me skip all the blood work and when my urine sample got knocked over, just let it slide. she was as laid back and hands off as a hospital midwife can be.

though, I did have (the same) doula for both births and she contributed to my great birth experiences probably more than the midwives.
