Buy your RR leaves from Mountain Rose Herbs. You will save a huge amount of money!

I am thinking more and more about committing my family to GAPS but it just seems like a huuuuge leap. We love our raw dairy and soaked beans and grains! But dd's symptoms seem to be getting worse soo . . .. I am going to read more about it and really meditate on how we can integrate it into our family life--even if it takes us a while to get there.

Well, I am doing all right my herbal infusions goal, though I read one should use 1C of herbs per quart of water in the RRL infusion when pregnant? That is a serious bundle of herbs. I don't have RR leaves available to forage, so I buy them from the hfs, and I think that I would be wiping them out if I used that much daily, plus that $ really adds up, kwim?

I ordered a bunch of supplements today joy.gif

I got FCLO and Organ Delight from Dr Ron's (tho I am a little creeped out by the organ delight thing, I am just gonna push through that and take them hopefully to help with mama fatigue).

Got my Rainbow Light Organic prenatal and Aliquid mag/ calcium, also took the plunge and ordered Floradix tho I may not crack it open until/if/when we conceive.

Whew!biginvestment but I am thinking it will pay off in the long term to get my health up to snuff and help me be a better mommy, plus make great breastmilk for my nursy boy treehugger.gif

I am rocking on the probiotic foods--that seems pretty natural to fit into my diet. Kombucha and organic (storebought) yogurt are my primaries but also use Bubbies pickles, homemade kraut, and goat milk kefir (I have to do it in smoothie tho I dont much like the taste of milk kefir). Getting less than a quart in, but brewing amix of the nettle/RRL and consuming it daily more or less.

Basically just trying to live and eat like I am already pg! It will be good to get in the habit of awareness ahead of time.

Thanks for the tip on Mountain Rose Herbs, I will go that route next time I need RRL.

Well, I thought we might've C'd there for a bit, but no dice! Just super long cycle and regular AF, which is okay since dh and I weren't trying and want to attempt to time it to favor the girly sperm. Not the best timing anyways with ds being still so little--I'd like to wait til he is at least 3 if not 4 or 5.

How's everyone else doing?

I am just now joining this thread - but so excited to find it!

We are TF/primal, hoping to conceive this year. I am in the midst of weaning my ds (2yo) hoping that will help with my irregular cycles.

I'm already pregnant (due in early March 2012). And I kinda fell off the TFs wagon. Trying to get back into it while pregnant but might have to push it off till after baby comes. I've been sick pretty much the whole time so I'm a bit out of it. Will be following this thread though. smile.gif

So how's everyone doing?  I think ive gotten a good start so far, ive been doing better at my cod liver oil, taking my brazil nuts and bone broth, lots of raw milk and grassfed butter.  I just ordered some kefir grains and (another) sourdough starter so im excited to get that going.  Oh and i got my magnesium supplement, but ive sucked at taking it cause i suck at taking pills (its 4 pills a day!).  But i really need to get on it i think i will also get some magnesium oil and/or magnesium flakes for when i slip up.

The other things is I need to get my filtered water pitcher and i STILL havent gotten back into the gym  :/

I'm doing all right. Diet-wise, I find it pretty manageable to eat tf, get probiotic foods, soak/cook grains and legumes in bone broth, sprinkle stuff with nutritional yeast, etc. but I really suck at taking supplements, I just forget or never get around to it. I think if I had one of those 7 day a week pill boxes it would really help. I also haven't been drinking the herbal infusions :( I was way on the ball about it when I thought I might've conceived but as soon as I got AF, I kinda felt a lot less motivated eyesroll.gif Got some liquid cal/mag but dang that stuff is so expensive! Yummy, though, I got the floradix kind.

What I need to focus on most right now is going to bed at a reasonable hour for me health and well-being--you know that thread going about trading sleep for alone time? Yah, that's me! Plus ds waking to nurse throughout the night; I just never wake feeling rested.

Hi all, long time TFer here but I was not too serious about it with my son, who is now 4.4. I didn't eat much junk, but also only got clo, a little raw milk, and a little bunnies pickles, we are TTC#2 now (5 dpo on first cycle) and this is what I have been doing for a few months (some things longer):

Daily:

Organic, pastured chicken liver pate made with lots of high vitamin ghee
1-2 tsp fermented clo
Homemade ferments at every meal
Pastured meat 2-3 times a day
2-5 pasture eggs, including duck eggs
Grass-fed organic Ghee, coconut oil, pastured lard, cultured raw pastured butter
Lots of veggies, cooking herbs, etc.
New Chapter Organic Perfect Prenatal
Concentrace drops in water

Weekly (in addition to above):

Wild Alaskan salmon roe (1 ounce a week)
1-2 servings wild fish
Ancient minerals magnesium oil spray on skin (3-4 times per week)
Kombucha once or twice a week
Bone broth--1-2 quarts a week

I have also gone grain-free and mostly dairy free. I was sad about the latter as I get really good raw dairy, but I seem to have an inflammatory response to most
dairy. I am making everything homemade. I feel so good, I think it is mostly all the liver!

The 2ww is driving me crazy, btw!

iPad did autocorrect and won't let me edit! As fun as bunnies pickles sounds, I meant Bubbies!
