Wound not healing properly (pic)

On Friday September 30 I went to a dermatologist to get some stuff looked at.  I had a hanging mole removed from my neck (healing fine) and a dermatafibroma removed from my chest (also healing fine).  While there the dr noticed a mole on my upper back that he said looked suspicious and he said he should remove it.  3 days after it started to hurt really badly.  When I went back for my one week appt he said it was infected and prescribed 7 days of oral antibioitcs and antibiotic cream.  It has now been 10 days and while it is not really pus-y anymore it is still very painful and does not look like it is healing well at all.  I go to the dr again this Friday (3 weeks post removal) but I am trying to figure out why it is not healing properly.  I will post a pic (warning: gross!)

That actually looks ok to me. The infection has obviously slowed things down but it looks like there has been some healing around the edges and the base looks nice and pink and moist. It's good that you're going back to see you dr but I think it's all good.
