I'm currently 13 DPO and I've taken 6 HPTs (2 Dollar Tree, 1 Answer, 3 Wondfo) starting the night of 10 DPO. They have all been initially negative within the time limit. However, 4 of the 6 tests developed a very faint second line anywhere from 15 min-1 1/2 hours after taking them. What are the chances they are all evap lines? Or am I actually pregnant?

I can't say for sure if you're pregnant or not but evap lines are more grey whereas true positive results are pink or purple depending on the test. They can be light pink but they have to have color. Evap lines have no color.. hope this helps!

And some tests aren't as sensitive. The dollar tree and Wondfo are 25mlu and so is FRER. There are some that are even more sensitive. Go to peeonastick.com and she lists pg tests and the sensitivity level. Maybe you can get a more sensitive one and try it..

Any line that appears after the appropriate time frame must be considered a BFN... for now. As Batia mentioned, an evap line will be colorless and could show up within the time frame or after. This does not prove you are not pregnant, however, as it simply may be too early.  Implantation occurs between 8 and 10 DPO 84% of the time, so if an embryo implanted at 10 DPO, it could take a few days to build up enough hCG to test positive. Studies have shown that the lower the hCG level the longer it takes for the line to show up. So if you are barely at the sensitivity of the test, the line could take the full 10 minutes (or whatever) to show up. But, to be a BFP it must show within the time frame. If you are pregnant and it is viable, your hCG levels should double every 24-72 hours. So wait another 2 days and try again if AF does not show. I suggest splurging on a FRER. Good luck!
