would you buy a house that backs or is surounded by non organic vineyards?

are you that much worse off right next to the vineyard than you would be a few streets away or even miles away? is the drift that significant?

is it worse than several green, pesticide full, sprayed etc lawns?

anyone have first hand experience?

I lived near a farm that uses airplanes to spray. Didn't bother us, but it was a concern

My first reaction was "Heck no!", but then I thought about it a bit more. Is it a vinyard practicing precision viticulture? Are you in CA or another state? Does the farm owner have a good record/reputation? What are meteorologic conditions like by you?

I place airborne toxics high on my list of things to avoid, and sprayed pesticides and fertilizers are up there with the worst, in my opinion. Drift IS an issue. I DO think it's worse than a suburban lawn because the frequency and intensity of chemical application seems much higher and the delivery method is riskier. But, if it's a sustainable (though maybe not organic) vinyard, family-owned or maybe owned by someone who treats his grapes like babies, then the risk profile would be totally different.
