Schools in Ellicott City

Thread Starter

We are looking to move to Ellicott City and I am interested in everyone's opinion about the schools.  Which ones they love, which ones to avoid, etc.

Any opinions would be very helpful.

Thanks!

I have soo  much to say about living and growing up in Ellicott City.  I loved it as a kid, but looking back, there were a lot of things, as a parent, I would totally not be pleased with.  I went to Centennial Elementary, Burleigh Manor and Centennial High School.

I was the oldest of 3 and after I graduated high school my parents pulled my siblings out and sent one to Park School and one to St. Timothys School.  And later both to Park School.  What my parents now say is that if you can afford to, send your kids to private and if you cant afford it: home school.  And I have spoke with several parents of friends of mine and all regret not spending the money for private school.  They all think that the "great" ratings may not reflect the actual quality of the education.

I'd be happy to elaborate more if you want!  Let me know and I'll PM you!
