I gave birth to my son at a Baby Friendly Hospital and had formula pushed on me because he was jaundice. They even gave me free formula to take home (I declined). I just wanted to get out of the hospital so I gave in. Our breastfeeding relationship really never took off. They had a bad Lactation consultant sent to me, referred me to a horrible lactation consultant, and no one ever listened to me. So not all Baby Friendly hospitals are as pro breastfeeding as they say.
Otherwise, I hope my OB doesn't push the flu shot on me. If she does I can truthfully say I'm allergic to eggs and she hopefully will back off then. It's not a severe allergy, but whatever gets them to stop. The first time I got a flu shot I developed pneumonia after a bad case of the flu. The second time nothing happened, but I generally don't get the flu anyways.
Oh, you're right. Some are better than others about following the guidelines, even within the same hospital chains. I saw my OB again today at 20 weeks, and no mention of a flu shot at all so far. She does know I'm on IVIG which is contraindicated, but I haven't even seen posters or reminder cards anywhere.
