Post Your Signs of Labor...Or False Alarms :) - Page 9

I've been having long contractions with cramping on and off for about 3 weeks now.  They aren't regular or anything, but it makes me a little impatient for the birth.  Still have 3.5 weeks to go till the due date though...

Hi mleh99,  I haven't seen you post before!  Sounds like your body is really gearing up.  What number baby is this for you?  Please feel free to jump into the chit chat thread and add your information there!

ETA:  lol.gif  I just saw that you did!

I know vomiting is common during intense labor, but where does it fit with pre-labor?  I've been nauseous all day and just started vomiting, but don't otherwise feel sick, at all.  I'm hoping labor doesn't start soon because I'm now completely exhausted.

I don't know, but I'm wondering too. Aside from being totally drained today, I have no appetite and have been nauseous when I do eat. Though for me, I think it's just a bad day.

I've had a couple of cramp-type feelings throughout the day, but basically nothing that made me think "hey that was totally a contraction". Hopefully things get moving before too much longer, I'm not totally sure what the time limit on waiting after the water's broken is and I really wanted to have this baby at home.

Whoo hoo!!!!

I'm sure it happens for some.  One of the things the body tries to do prior to labor or in the early stages of labor is empty the bowels.  I wonder if sometimes this manifests as vomiting instead.  But honestly, I haven't heard of this as a typical pre-labor symptom.  I do have a friend, though, that had the stomach flu and went into labor 24 hours later.  I felt so bad for her thinking, how awful to have been nauseous and vomiting for a day and then have to labor!  But she said that once labor kicked in that all those hormones took over and she felt great.  Vomiting and especially intestinal cramping can stimulate labor (that's how castor oil works).  So who knows!  Try and keep hydrated and rest as much as you can!  I'm so sorry you feel lousy!

I sure hope that's what's going on with me right now... I had constant omg-labor-is-coming symptoms over the weekend but since Sunday... NOTHING.  Barely even getting the BHs I used to.  I am trying reeeeally hard not to be frustrated but my GOD am I frustrated!  And so irritable (Jaimee, my dear, I KNOW you can relate to feeling irritable!)... my mood is pretty wretched today.  I'm over looking for labor signs and I'm only 39 weeks!  Every little pain or twinge I used to be like "OMG! So exciting!" and now I'm like "shut UP".  It's like, look body, don't mess with me unless you mean business, I don't have the effing patience anymore.

ROTFLMAO.gif  I hear you!!!  That's why I always end up resorting to natural induction methods... I just can't stand the wait and wonder period!  I have to DO something!  But it happens when it happens.  Everyone tells you to try and enjoy the last few weeks without a newborn.  Go to movies, go out to restaurants, pamper yourself, read a book, etc.  They are so right, but it's so hard to actually do.  I would send you some peaceful vibes, but I don't think I have any!

I LOVE, and so appreciate, your honesty!  I'm so glad someone else is in the same boat, it's so refreshing.  I know that in the blink of an eye I'll be sending this babe off to kindergarten then high school then college then waiting for his/her own baby to be born, etc etc, and that I'll be wishing it could be right now, and bla bla bla, and embracing the present moment and all that crap, but I do NOT have it in me today.

OMG thank you I needed to laugh so badly today!

I'm going for a walk.  Maybe I'll run a stupid marathon while I'm at it, why the hell not.  Stupid everything.

Yeah my friend was stomach flu-y before her second child.  I think that meant vomiting.  So it *could* be a sign?!  Hope so!

Yup, my body cleared itself out after labor started with my first. Including lots of vomiting.  Not fun.

Contractions are steady and about 7 minutes apart. I should be sleeping, but I can't, so I'm rocking on a ball and playing on the internet!

So exciting!!

I had some exciting early labor signs last night. I had pretty regular, strong contractions from 7 pm to 1:30 am (when I fell asleep). When I was sitting, or lying down, they were 10-15 mins apart and lasted for over a minute. By the time I went to bed, they were strong enough that I couldn't read through them- I had to close my eyes. The weird thing was that every time I got up to walk around, they would get much more frequent and stronger... almost like they were constant. Not sure what that means. Anyway, now I'm just having mild ones every 15 mins or so. When I get up, there is a lot of pressure and sharp pains in my cervix. Baby is moving around a lot. And I'm pretty sure I had some pink spotting this morning. Cool!

Of course, I really don't take anything to mean labor is starting. I'm 38.5 weeks now. But I am hopeful that I will have this guy close to his due date... 1.5 weeks feels very close! So I'm happy that things are happening.

Remind me of all of this in two days when I'm with Krystal and MrsKatie saying I don't want any signs if it's not the real thing! lol.gif

That is exciting!!  But generally if they get less frequent/regular when you're relaxing and more frequent when you are active then that is not the real deal.  But, it certainly sounds like your body is working, especially with some pink spotting!!  I bet you're dilating and when things really pick up it'll be quick!  Yay!
