Becky I would absolutely rest.  If your body lets you sleep then that is right choice.  If the baby needs to come out, you will not be able to sleep.

Yeah I would rest, and if they peter out it wasn't real anyway.  Real labor will not space out if you try to stop it.  If it keeps going, then great!  goodvibes.gif  If not, at least you got some rest.

Becky--I got four hours of sleep. I rested when the contractions let me. I still had a quick birth: REST! It's worth it! You sound very close! (and I SO remember the 'this better be it' feeling, lol).

Bloody show: 3 days of it, I think it was? The thread's too long to find it, XD

So I had my membranes swept this afternoon. Some bloody show, lots of contractions, but no noticeable cervical change in the 6 hours since she did it. I was a stretchy 2 cm and partly effaced, but pretty posterior cervix. (I was pretty proud of myself for having felt the same things the MW did, though.) I also started taking Start Up (cohoshes, some other stuff). I'm still 6 days before my EDD, though, so who knows if it does anything.

After a full week of off and on painful contractions, and cervix pain starting with bloody show that never went anywhere, it was really nice to discover last night that I have made it to 5 cm dilated. At least half that work is done! :)

That's awesome! This time, it took me seven hours of active labor to get to 5. Of course, then it only took two more hours to get to 10. Go figure. Starting at 5 sounds good to me! smile.gif

thumb.gif  That's how far dilated I was with ds when I went into labor!  It was still 5 hours from start to finish, but it felt very quick.

I think that for the first time in 3 pregnancies I actually lost some of what was a mucus plug today.   Either that's what it was, or something is horribly funky with my body.  As of tomorrow I will be the most pregnant I have ever been- it kind of gives me hope that my body is doing something on its own, even though I feel absolutely nothing, and no signs of baby coming any time soon.

At my appt last Thursday my cervix was still around 2cm long, maybe this is a sign I'm actually effacing a bit.  With all the head grinding on cervix I felt last night, I better be!

sounds promising!  I've been losing plug like crazy so I'm hoping for more dilation.  I think at my NST tomorrow I'll ask for a sweep.  I'd LOVE for baby to be here before Thursday!  I know the plug doesn't mean much but it sure is reassuring.  Heck, anything is reassuring at this point.  Sheepish.gif

I've been losing plug for the first time in 3 pregnancies, too. I had a sweep yesterday, though, so I'm sure that's why. Lots of contractions, too, but I'm not sure it's doing much. I checked myself, and I might be a little more effaced, but I don't think I've dilated any/much.

My aunt has apparently been telling everyone I'm having the baby tomorrow, lol. My parents come in town tomorrow, so she says he's going to come just in time to get as much time with them as possible. It would be nice; they are planning to leave Saturday, which is the day after my EDD, and I'm going to feel bad if they drive 1000 miles each way and don't get to meet him.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is still pregnant, seeing all this birth announcements and stories has me feeling kind of antsy!  My due date was the 18th, and I'm really curious to see if my Tarot deck will actually predict the birth day--it says tomorrow, the 21st!  Today dh is home and he's going to help get the house ready, we're definitely hoping he comes today or tomorrow, this week would be awfully convenient since DD has the week off (yay for no pick up and drop off) and dh was already going to have a four day weekend, so he wouldn't have to actually miss as much work while still getting the same amount off...plus, it would be more likely that we could make it to some turkey dinner!  I wouldn't feel comfortable traveling even an hour away on such a busy holiday weekend since my midwives are anticipating this labor to be a quick one.

I've been having tons of contractions, last night they were very consistent and getting a little stronger and lower, but then they bottomed out pretty much when we got home.  I'm not sure how dilated I am, but my cervix is definitely super squishy and working on dilating, and I'm pretty sure I've been losing plug.  Of course, one way or another this little guy will be here in the next week or so, so I suppose it could just as easily be only gearing up for that... ::sigh::  DD was 10 days late!

Crossing my fingers for labor tomorrow during the day!  (DD was born at 3:30 in the morning and it was awful to start off our new family with such horrible sleep!)

Congrats to all of you mamas who have your little bundles, and good luck to you who are awaiting their arrival!

Well, if I go by the Empress card then it would be the 27th (I have accurately predicted birth with this card before).  However, the Sun is a more traditional card that means a new birth, and that appeared on the 24th.  That being said, I had the Sun come up for yesterday and no such luck!  I feel that the Sun predicts pregnancy very well, but I find that the Empress and her naturally maternal nature seems more appropriate for the birth itself.  Of course, I am hoping that you go into labor sooner than the 27th!  thumb.gif

Oh man, I hope it's before the 27th too!  I guess that's just another week though... I feel confident I could handle another week.  24th is T-giving, which would be sort of fun in it's own way I suppose.  We'll see I guess!

Wow!  That was really funny, the FIRST card I turned over was the Empress!  So, that would be today...I hope you're ready!  winky.gif  The Strength card came up with it as well, which signifies a feminine empowering time.  SO, here's hoping!

The Sun came up on the 3rd of December, so that would be my next guess.

Jasmin- Okay, okay... me, too!!!!!

I have a Tarot deck... how do you do it?  Shuffle just the major arcana, deal one by one until the Empress shows and that's how many days from now it will be?

Oh man - I hope it's not today - tomorrow, yes, but not today wink1.gif We'll soon find out though, eh?

I thought about separating the major arcana out, but I just left them all together.  I shuffle and then lay down the cards stating the date out loud and I go until a realistic time period is reached (ie- my due date was the 18th and this is my second child so it is not likely I'd go into labor as late as the 4th of December).  If she hasn't come up yet then I return to the beginning of the cycle and continue listing the dates in order until she appears (or whichever card you feel most represents birth for you).  I specifically asked my deck to show me with the Empress.

Good luck!  Even if it turns out to be wrong it's kind of nice to have something to "plan" around, at least for me and my personality!
