My three and a half week old is cutting his first tooth?! « Back to Group Discussions

Seriously... I mean, I know he was almost a month late, but isn't this a bit early?? It's his right front upper tooth and yes, I am sure. It's a sharp little toothy bit poking out of his gums. My midwife had me try Hyland's homeopathic teething tablets for it, but I'm not sure it's working. He's seriously fussing over everything, but at least now I know why. LOL

Wow, that is early! My DS cut his first two teeth and 4 months, and I thought that was early!!! That is the funny thing about teeth...every baby is different and it is all normal. Sorry your LO is fussy :(, that is no fun.

I was just coming to ask if there is anything I can do for my teething little guy :(  He's not even 3 weeks old and is cutting his 2 bottom middle teeth (they have been visible under the gums since be was born).  My two older ones had teeth at 2 1/2 and three months but this is nuts!

wow, that IS early!!! 

something else you can do is express some breastmilk onto a clean washcloth and freeze it, let him chew on that a bit, it might help.

Also, scsigrl, I am so happy to know I'm not alone... I thought I was crazy at first until I looked it up and found out it is possible and that some babes are actually born with teeth.

Mommel, I have a friend who had 2 kids born with teeth!  One lost them right away but the other had them till his permanent teeth came in!  So I guess it could be worse ;)  Though there was no teething she had to worry about I guess!  She chose not to breastfeed after she saw they had teeth ;)  lol

A friend just reminded me of the amber teething necklaces!  Now if I could just get one locally!  Grrrrr.  Off to etsy for it!
