Twin birth at Memorial

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum. I am interested to hear stories/experiences from moms who had twins at Memorial in the last 18 or so months. What were protocols like? Did you have to deliver in the OR (even without c-section)? I'm both trying to get a sense of how a twin birth really will be different from a singleton (all the "natural/homebirthy" DVDs--Organic Birth, Business of Being Born, etc-- I've watched don't include anything about twins and so I always find myself thinking... well, there'd be another one) and also a better sense of what it's like at Memorial for a (currently planned) natural birth of twins. Thanks everyone in advance!

I don't have any personal experience with birthing twins or having a baby at memorial. I was originally planing to have this baby (due Dec 2011) at memorial because they offer the "Gentle Cesarean". It's Dr. Magee that offers it. I don't know who your Dr. currently is but I'm sure she could answer any questions you have about a vaginal twin delivery and exactly how it goes at memorial. She's really a wonderful Dr. (though SUPER busy!) and she's happy to answer any and all questions. You can google her and shoot her an email or just call her practice. She's internet savvy and does email :). She is very pro natural birthing, breastfeeding ect..

I switched back to my local hospital late in this pregnancy (about a month ago) due to the fact that Memorial is 55mins away from me and I wasn't crazy about the medical team there, though Dr. Magee is great!

My friend had a natural twin VBAC at Memorial!  I know it was not easy, but she had good support form her providers (Mary Mumford Haley and an OB she works with?) and she did it.
