Button joint waldorf doll

Hi,

does anyone know about a downloadable pattern for a button doll? I don´t understand how they are made and would love to make one for my kids (as a present from the baby :) ) but I think shipping for a "joys pattern" would take too long (I am in Germany, no doll patterns here - at least I could not find any)

I really want them to have movable arms and legs, and I know about the silverpenny tutorial but I still don´t understand (stupid me)

Help would be so much appreciated!

Thanks!

I`ve just downloaded a pattern for the "Starbright Baby" from sarahs-dolls.com. I haven`t quite finished the doll, but the pattern along with the tutorial is very good. (Apart form crocheting the wig - you basically have to figure out that one for yourself...)

I am based in Germany, too - and I paid via paypal and downloaded the pattern right away; no problems there.

Good luck with your project!

If it is technique you want to learn there are several way to button joint a doll.  I learned using judi's dolls .com "doll making for everyone" class on the doll net crafty college website. there are 5 different dolls she teaches you to make, each progressively more advanced in technique and each doll has a different was of attaching the arms and legs. Three different button joints.  they are not waldorf dolls but they were fun to make and my girls still love to play with them.

I made Joys button baby after going thru that "class" and found it to be easy breezy.  I love how she turned out,  I enjoyed making the pattern.

Good luck with your projects!  Happy doll making!
