I may be crazy...but I swear I can feel my cervix...

Every once in a while one of the prodromal/nursing caused contractions is pretty intense and crampy and I swear a few times I've felt my cervix doing something. I'm sure not much, but it's just weird/cool that I can feel it. Anyone else or am I totally nuts?

I haven't really felt anything subtle, but I get pains in my cervix. Like jabbing. Ow.....

I feel the baby headbutting the crap out of mine? And sometimes that feels like it's doing something... But I'm pretty sure in retrospect that it really is just the baby nudge, nudge, nudging it.

I sometimes feel the baby push down on my cervix while I'm having a contraction. I always think "holy crap, is my water gonna break!" because it's intense pushing on my cervix. I do also get the stabbing pains in my cervix when the baby is moving around a lot.

I haven't felt anything like that yet, but I have heard of it happening!  Does it feel kind of like a *zing*?  Like an electric current?  One friend described it to me that way.  Her midwife said that was her cervix dilating.  I hope I get to feel that this time!  How cool!

Yes, I get this every time I have a contraction that actually lasts and spreads.  I can literally feel my cervix pulling.  For me it's not a zing at all, but very much a stretching/pulling feeling. Totally normal with a subsequent baby.  I take those contractions as an opportunity to really relax my body and visualize the cervix opening up as practice for real labor.  As my HypBrith CD's remind me, "picture your cervix like a rubber band, stretching and opening."  Those are the exciting ones that you know are actually doing work.

Yes! It's like a pulling sensation.

I feel like that sometimes too, that the baby is just going to break the bag with all the pressure/pinching/pulling sensations as I'm walking around!

I don't feel anything on my cervix - even when I've had internal exams or paps done, I never feel anything - is that normal, or just me?

I was almost 2 cm dilated at my 35+2 week checkup (I let him go ahead and check me because I was having some pains, but I think it was just baby pushing on a nerve or something) and he said he could feel her head on my cervix.  I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow, and every time baby gets hiccups, which is almost daily, I feel them radiate into my tailbone area - nothing painful, just odd-feeling.  I have been having BH for several months, but never feel any pressure down below - it's always right in the front of my abdomen, just below my belly button - no pain, just a tightened feeling.  Going for my next checkup on Wed this week and if he wants to check me again, I'll probably let him, just out of curiosity... maybe I'll end up being 4cm by the time I go into real labor lol

I checked myself again yesterday and confirmed what I thought it meant with my midwife- 2 cm, 50% effaced and I can feel her head so she's engaged (now if she would just rotate from posterior...)! Those bothersome contractions ARE doing something! lol Guess I better kick my preparations into high gear!
