I am going to be a mommy on Monday.

Our adoption will be confirmed at 3PM on Halloween. Our son, even though he has been since he came into our lives a year ago, will officially and legally be 100% ours. I can't even describe the feeling. I'm a MOM!

I don't know who remembers my story - but I posted on here asking what people's opinions were on biological or adopted first, that I was struggling with it. Literally right afterwards we were put in a situation where we got POA of a 14 year old, then guardianship, now...adoption. He's my little boy (even if he is taller than me!), and I love him more than anything in this world. He was meant to be mine, and as he tells everyone, including the adoption investigator from the court, "he was just born to the wrong parents."

Congratulations!  Lots of parents want a baby or a very young child.  Kudos to you for giving your hearts to a teen who needs a home just as badly as a little bitty baby.  Many of these kids have been in foster care for some time, shuffled from place to place, and it's awesome that you gave this young man a place to call his own, a home and a family to belong to.  He will remember you and honor you for this for a long, long time, and your act will not only inspire others on this board, but it will have a trickle-down effect among people within your sphere of influence.  It takes a special heart to give an older child a home - blessings to you and your husband for stepping up and doing this.

Yes, I totally teared up.  Congratulations!!!!    The waiting can be hell when you've fallen in love, I can only imagine how amazing you must feel!
