Family Bed of Teethers!

Thread Starter

My twin 6 month old girls are teething and we all sleep together in a family bed. The last 4 nights have been hell, the girls are getting up every hour or so screaming. Sometimes one girl wakes the other one and then both are angry. My amazing hubby takes care of one at night and I take care of the other but this means no one gets sleep. Any suggestions from seasoned mommas? How did you get through this stage? Letting them cry it out or giving them meds are both not options in our home.

Thanks mommas!

What about homeopathics?  And how do they respond to gum massages while teething?  Some babies hate it and some like it, I know, but there were a few nights when we put our babies to sleep while singling softly and gently rubbing their gums with a (clean) finger.

Do they have things to chew on? My girls are just starting to be able to hold things and chew on them. You might try a variety of things (teethers, toys, knotted cloth). You can dip a knot in cold water to give them something cool.

We've also had good luck with baths as a calming influence, even when they're hurting.

Also whisking the one who wakes up out of the room to try to keep the sleeping one still asleep.

But oh not fun. I don't envy you this problem. :(
