Please tell me that utter exhaustion is an impending labor sign!

I've been through all the others - lost my mucous plug, bloody show, the baby has dropped, random contractions, I was 2cm dilated at my 38 wk appt, I "nested" like crazy up until about a week ago. Now I am so incredibly exhausted. I get up in the morning (bright and early since I have three small kids who wake up around 5:30am), get my oldest off the school, then completely COLLAPSE. I came home from dropping DS1 at school, there were dishes piled in the sink and my two younger kids were looking to do something and I popped in a video and dozed on the couch. At 9:30am. eyesroll.gif Now i'm back up, did the dishes, and have to sit down again.

My DH will be working from home tomorrow and Friday since there is no school for my oldest and he knew two full days with all three of them would probably be a disaster. But I have to get through today. And seriously, getting up to pee sounds like too much work at this point. The baby just feels so heavy between my legs, I am out of breath, and just tired.

I've felt like this for about 5 days. So, please, please, let this mean I'm about to go into labor!! I'm 39 weeks today.

I hope it is mama! Try to rest either way! :) I'm right there with you... Baby will be here soon! :)

I hope it is, too, mama!  I know I have felt just tired, in pain, sort of defeated toward the end when I keep thinking that I should have already gone into labor.  Mentally its hard and I think that manifests physically as well (not to mention that your body is just plain working hard!).  FX that some babies come out soon!!

Last time I woke up one morning and really, really, really didn't want to get out of bed but I (stupidly) forced myself to go to work for a few hours and get some stuff done at home.  That night I went into labor and I remember thinking that I should have rested that day!  Get as much rest as you can, at 39 weeks you know baby is coming soon!

I agree- listen to your body and sleep!!! Nest when/if you have the energy, sleep if you don't.

Rest and relax now...use it as a good excuse to leave the dishes waiting, and guiltlessly leave the kids in front of the TV.  Lord knows I have been.

Thanks everyone! My DH is working from home today and tomorrow and I feel a huge relief knowing that. I had my 39 week checkup yesterday - I was hoping she'd miraculously say I was 6cm dilated or something, but no, still just 2cm. It's great to be able to come here and have people who understand and sympathize - my friends are great, but I don't want to be the whiney pregnant lady so I tend to keep it to myself!

Hoping she comes soon!
