Oh yes mama, this is morning sickness.  and that's exactly how I would describe it.  light nausea sometimes, bad nausea sometimes, "ill" feeling in my stomach, sometimes I actually throw up though.  Well I'm so glad you have a symptom to speak of now mama!!  kid.gif

How funny, I could have made the same post!

Well, sort of.  I've only had one previous pregnancy, but this time it is SO different!

I get the shaky-nauseous feeling if it's been too long since I last ate, and if I eat the "wrong" thing.

I haven't vomited (yet) but I came pretty close last night.  We had originally planned to get a rotisserie chicken from Costco on a shopping trip there, but on the way I was SO hungry and sick, I just had to tell DH, "no, we need to stop and I need to eat like NOW.  This is not optional"... So in the end, we had to skip Costco.

Ginger candy really helps, as does raspberry lemonaide.  And it seems to be directly tied to how much sugar is involved.  High sugary things make me feel better right away, and take away the nauseated feeling, but don't last.  If I eat something like crackers and pb, it seems to stay away for longer, but is slightly less effective.  I've tried eating protein-rich snacks, but if there's no sugar involved, it doesn't help the nausea.

Haha, yes, this is morning sickness! Yay, I've heard the m/s is a sign of a healthy pregnancy...maybe it's TRUE!

Yeah, that light, all-day nausea really stinks. It's really only two or three times a day that I feel SUPER sick and like I'm going to barf/actually barf. I'm not throwing up that much, just having strong reactions to certain foods or smells and also to the IDEA of foods. That never happened to me in any other pregnancy, it was always a reaction to not eating enough, eating a certain food or smelling something. This time, more than anything else, thinking about certain foods and food groups making me ill and sometimes actually makes me throw up. That is just so weird to me!

Same with me.  And it definitely is different from when I was pregnant with my daughter....this time it's worse.

Ditto to the PPs, definitely "morning" sickness.  I like to call it:  A General Feeling of Ickiness    It just is a nonstop slightly nauseous weird taste in your mouth crap feeling that doesn't go away.  I keep wanting to be like, Ha! I'm avoiding it this time!  Then I remember I am only 4 weeks pregnant, I have plenty of time to feel icky.

Yes, that's morning sickness.  I have the 24/7 nausea without vomiting.

Finding a way to eat more frequently might help a bit.  My nausea continued until well into the second trimester, when I started testing my blood sugar and realized I was seriously hypoglycemic.  Eating more frequently and eating more overall helped tremendously at that point.  I have multiple food allergies (and celiac disease) and it can be hard to eat enough of the right things to make one feel better.

I'm not making myself eat yet.  I think there's a reason for first trimester nausea and I'm fine giving in to the ick, though waiting too long to eat does cause it's own nausea issues.

DH made me a lot of smoothies last time around.  Yogurt or coconut milk, protein powder, frozen fruit.  That helped me get past the initial daily nausea enough that I could eat a bit more.

Glad I'm not the only one who isn't sure what she's experiencing! I've been nauseous all morning. I'll be six weeks tomorrow and was thinking this may be my first bout of m/s, but I wasn't sure.

this actually sounds like hypoglycemia which is a sudden drop in blood sugar.  the very best way to combat this is to eat small but very frequent meals.  If you always have something in there this is much less likely to happen.
