how to sanitize after worm infestation. (Xposted)

We just got a new dachsund puppy and he has worms and has been scooting his bottom on the carpet. We've taken him to the vet to be dewormed, but I was wondering how to sanitze the carpet to kill any eggs. X-posted in decluttering, organizing, and simplifing.

I would steam clean the carpets using vinegar or very very hot water. It is very normal for puppies to have worms (esp if you get the pup from a not so reputable breeder), i would be more concerned with possible contamination in your yard then in the house, but a good cleaning should do the trick.
