how to sanitize after worm infestation. (Xposted)

We just got a new dachsund puppy and he has worms and has been scooting his bottom on the carpet. We've taken him to the vet to be dewormed, but I was wondering how to sanitze the carpet to kill any eggs. X-posted in Pets.

I know that spraying things with vinegar and then hydrogen peroxide is a fantastic disinfectant.  Maybe you could do that on the carpet and then use a carpet cleaner to clean it out of the carpet?
