Pretty sure you are producing straight up heavy cream becky!!

Yeah. And it's washing away most of our baby-wearing fantasies. It just hurts to wear him for very long.

It's like he got scared in that first week when I didn't have milk and he lost so much weight and he's just never felt safe again. First day I got my milk, he gained 10 oz. In 24 hours. I hope he slows down soon!

I've got a big boy too, Becky. He's about 15 or 16lbs fully dressed at 9 weeks. I can see him gaining another lb or two by the time he's 11 weeks. I'm glad he's getting plenty of milk for the immunities. I always got sick as a kid, and I don't want him to be the same way.

They're supposed to slow down the growth around 3 months, I think. So that's something to look forward to.

Derailing the thread a bit, but do you have a SSC, something like a boba or ergo??  SOOOO comfy even with a heifer!  Finn isn't quite 16 lbs yet, I dont think, I'll weigh him today, but I manage long walks with him and barely feel it when he's in the right carrier!!

Kyla- Nice! :) I love feeding him! It's so cool to know he's getting everything he needs. I think I might need to quit adding in the bricks, though.. ;) I hope yours is as big! Probably so. He seems in line with the other big babies in the group. I want to know how it's going with the one born at 11lbs!

And Carrie: I have a K'tan and Dusty has a Moby. Pretty much the same thing, imo, mine just skips some steps to put on and is less adjustable.

I think we should start looking for another carrier. He's got great neck and back control - he could be sitting if he didn't tip over. If I hold his fingers for balance, he's set and can sit forever. So I think he can easily do a back carry by now, yeah?

I loved the look of that .. gah, tired. Mei tei? The pretty red headed lady posted it recently! Would that work, do you think? I'll go look up the others now :)

I posted a site down in the baby wearing thread about a site that lets you rent carriers for cheap to try out, then if you buy from them you get the money you paid to rent back and when you buy they also have a 90 day refund policy if you don't like your carrier!

Yup on the back carries.  Finn is the same.  He sits happily and his head control is fine!

A k'tan is great and so is a Moby.  But they don't compare to the strength of a woven wrap OR to the ease/comfort of an SCC (with a big baby).

If I can pitch the Boba for a sec -- it is GREAT as a back carrier for toddlers, and also FAB a baby carrier, too.  I'm loving the front carry now with Finn, but I could still technically carry Nora on my back.  It's got toddler foot straps!  It's easy as pie to click on and off!

Re: carriers, what's an SSC?  I have a Babyhawk which I love, but I've never gotten the hang of back carries with it.  I think an Ergo is going on my Christmas list.

Will is 12w2d today, and somewhere around 15.5-16 pounds.  His 6mo clothes are getting tight, and I just had to move up to size 3 dipes!  Jeb was a peanut, so this is so different, and so fun!  He rolled tummy to back the other day, and I was shocked.  We do tummy time here and there, but I'm not too consistant.  And he BELLY LAUGHS!!  It is so awesome!  He has been laughing for weeks, and is already ticklish.  Any time I'm changing his shirt he is so ticklish he's cracking up.  I love it.  He is a really happy baby and rarely fussy.  He never had a witching hour.  He is content to be in his bouncy seat or swing or on the floor long enough that I can get stuff done, and actually eat a meal, which is also very different than last time.  Jeb never ever let me put him down.  Will is a trooper.  Now, sleep?  That's another story :(.  Either I suck at getting babies to sleep, or I just make babies who don't know how.  Will sleeps the first part of the night (2-4 hours) in his crib and then comes to bed and is futzy ever hour for the rest of the night.  It sucks.  He doesn't like to comfort nurse, and nothing I do gets him to settle.  I hate that it leaves me tired during the day, and I feel like I don't have as much patience with Jeb then.  Boo.

Re: Laughs

Liam is soo close to laughing. I've gotten some very enthusiastic smiles out of him, and something that kinda sounds like a laugh but not quite. We're getting there!

He's growing up way too fast... And I'll be saying that just about every week for the rest of his life, huh?

Anton is not laughing yet - he's only 9 1/2 weeks - but he's "talking" like a pro. Very cute.

We also got some stats: at 9 weeks, he was 14 lbs 12 oz and 23 3/4 inches. I'm packing up the small-sized diapers and moving to medium.
