My Conception date has nothing to do with my due date! #worried!

Hi ladies, well my LMP was on April 20 and I conceived my baby on May 10. The due date the doctor gave me is January 25 but if I go by the conception date the due date would be on January 31 which is a week off and I'm kind of worry, I asked my doctor but he does not have an answer "/

If you know when you oed and your doctor is not bright enough to change your due date I would run not walk. Based on my lmp I would be due Dec 7.
My due date based on ovulation is Dec 20th. In thier systems when I go for ultrasound they have my lmp as mar 15th instead of mar 2nd.
The worry is that you would be at your " due date" and really only be 39 weeks.
Considering that many especially first time moms go over about a week or so they would be considering you 2 weeks post dates.

Doctors typically use "the wheel", which is based on LMP. If you're confident about your conception date, then definitely let your doctor know and try to get a more accurate due date. In the end, babies come when they want to; but if you have a doctor who pushes inductions at 40w2d, then you will definitely want that extra wiggle room at the end. smile.gif

Some women, including myself, have been known to fudge LMP so that it matches the wheel for conception date for those docs who insist on using it.[/SIZE]

The answer is that you don't have a 28 day cycle, and a lot of women don't. It's perfectly normal, and  the fact that your doctor didn't tell you this kinda sends off a red flag. If you have an early ultrasound, they will probably change your due date based on how far along the baby is measuring. I'm not usually one to advocate for early ultrasounds, but if they won't change your due date based on your word, then the u/s would probably be a good idea so you don't get pressured to induce early, or get labeled high risk because you're measuring small.

My EDD based on LMP is 2/29, but it's actually 3/20 based on when I ovulated. Luckily I'm seeing a midwife, and all I had to do was tell her this and she took my word for it. My first pregnancy was conceived in week 3 of a 5 week cycle, and I was seeing an OB, so I just lied and made my LMP to be 2 weeks before I conceived.

I personally would not continue to see a doctor who didn't have an answer to your simple question or isn't willing to take your word for when you are due. To me this says that he thinks he knows your body better than you, and he to not acknowledge anything other than "textbook" pregnancy and not any variations of normal.

I have the same thing happening this time. I ovulated late. So my actual due date is off. I am a bit anxious to see what my ultrasound "estimates". I discussed it with my OB who is new for me and he knows that I've gone 2 weeks past my due date so he better be prepared for a mother who is perfectly willing to wait it out.

My LMP was 42 days long, so I actually refuse to tell them the LMP.  Instead I tell them it won't do them any good.  I tell them conception date, and then they calculate back 2 weeks before that to use that to calculate EDD.  It's a PITA, but I agree with the pps, if your OB isn't listening to you about this, what else is he not going to listen to you about?
