4 mos. old tummy sleeping

Hi!

I've been finding that my almost four month old son sleeps on his stomach - we are still using a swaddleme wrap, and he manages to flip himself over like a pancake during the night.  It has been helping him sleep longer stretches, but I am wondering if it is dangerous or if we should stop using the swaddleme wrap.  He has been rolling over since about 3 months old... in fact, the first time he rolled over was when he was swaddled in his crib.  I guess the swaddle made it easier because his arms were out of the way.  Just a few days ago he "accidentally" rolled from stomach to back, so he can't reliably get himself off his stomach yet, and I don't put him down on his stomach because he hates it.  I'm still swaddling because he seems to calm himself more easily when swaddled (hates it when I wrap him up, but then when I sit with him in the rocker, he calms down).  Any advice?

Thanks

I, personally, would stop using the wrap, because I would think that it would make it harder for him to flip onto his back again if he got into trouble. I would think that he would need his arms more to go from front to back than he would for back to front.

Yes, I think you are right. He can't really do that yet but he definitely can't push up off the mattress without his arms. I think I will start using those sleep sacks instead. Thanks.
