Cleaning "surface only" stuffed animals

Thread Starter

I have a 6 week old who received several "surface clean only" stuffed animals - including one that has teethers on it (Umm.. Hello? Sell it as a toy to suck on and then say I can't wash it?) so - what do you all do for the initial clean and to clean in the future?  Vinegar is the only thing that comes to my mind. Thank you for your help!

Depends how special they are. If they were ones I wanted to keep for her as long term keepsake-type toys then I'd probably just sponge them with a damp cloth or put them in a pillowcase with unprocessed bran and give them a good shake.

If they were just toys to be played with until they fell apart or she grew out of them then I'd just wash them in the washing machine. Maybe in a pillowcase, depending on what sort they were but probably just throw them in with a load of baby clothes.

Agree with pp. I've had great luck just putting them in the washing machine. I stick them in a mesh bag for delicates, though.
