Oh my goodness! Congratulations (is that the wrong sentiment? it feels like congratulations are in order!), it really seemed as though you were fighting against your own natural inclinations. Which I totally understand - a baby changes everything - but I'm so glad you were able to find a solution that feels right for you.

I think if you stick with the B12 and D supplements, you will do great. I would love to send you a copy of my book, The Vegan Pregnancy Survival Guide, if you'd like it.  =)

Mom's fine. She was never noticeably symptomatic, and her bone density is fine, so no lasting harm done. We've all noticed stronger immune systems since starting a supplementation regimen.

If the sources I've read are right, part of the reason for the rash of "your Vitamin D levels are low" results is that the guidelines were changed just a few years back - a level of 10 used to be considered perfectly sufficient (to avoid rickets), but it has since been theorized that higher levels have lots of health benefits.

Thanks, Sayward, that's a very generous offer!  My email will arrive in your box this morning.

Catnip, I'm glad to hear it!
