going home and changing isnt an option its a 40 minute drive on the beltway : )   i just took two days off so i could travel up to buffalo to see sick family, and a bunch of other people i love that i wont see again for a long long time after babe is born due to moving further south

My mom took me out today and bought a bunch of baby stuff for Blobby! We got a few newborn sleepers, and some 0-3 month ones, some onesies and pants, a pair of socks, 2 bibs, a sleeping bag thing that has wings so you can swaddle the baby and you don't need blankets, and a cozy sleeper-shaped snow suit thing with a hood for when we go outside. I think we're set now. I just need more diapers, but I'm on it.

Are braxton hicks kind of hurting anyone else? Sometimes they're bad enough that I don't really want to walk through them, I don't remember this.

Mummoth-- generally I think the ones I have to kind of pause through tend to be the ones where I'm having a BH, and baby starts to move/push against it at the same time. She doesn't seem to like her home to change/move at all- so I think the pressure angers her- and then she causes the BH to hurt more. Does that make sense?

The BH in themselves don't seem too terribly painful, but the combination sucks.

rusty~ I was really ready for this weekend, too! I'm not getting staying up before 10 tomorrow.

jenine~ that makes sense, Blobby seems to move a whole lot so maybe that's what's going on.

I'm going to kill DH... he came in from work, and said "Lemme see the baby!" so I lifted up my shirt and he put his ice-cold just got off his bike hands on me!! I SCREAMED!!

hahaha classic!

This is slightly related to the 'what are you getting done' thread, and slightly not, so I'm putting it in here.

We put together the crib tonight *cheers*, and so now that we have a bit more room, and can put things in there, I'm trying to organize some of the other things. One of them is a "grab bin" or things to have close on hand, mostly for changing. I'm just trying to think if I'm forgetting anything. It will mostly sit beside her change area, but the point is that it's small enough for us to grab and bring from room to room as needed.

Currently in the box:

-swaddle blanket

-receiving blanket

-two washcloths (to be increased after sposie wipes are used up)

-sposie wipes

-a couple sposie diapers

-two NB covers and 4 prefolds

-small size baby wash

-small size lotion

-one pair socks

-bib

-hat

and then I'm going to throw in two sleepers after I wash the clothing. It all fits in a 15x6" bin, so it feels like a good size. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something that seems obvious to have nice and accessible.

I would add a few things for you:

-a set of nursing pads

-nipple cream/lanolin

-small bottle of water

-small protein snack (baggie of nuts, gronola bar etc.)

....I've never done this, I think I am going to make one now lol...I think it will really help DH (and probably my 4yo even) to help me out! I will probably put mine in a diaper bag so its easier for my little guy to carry without spilling.

Hmmm good idea. I think I might keep those things in a tiny bin in the nursery beside the glider though, since that's most likely where I'll be (or on the couch). I think this bin is mostly going to stay in our bedroom at  her pack and play for changing/bathing purposes.

Washing her clothes today! Feels so exciting!

I agree with this :)

I've never one before, but I'm sure they're very useful.

I need to stock up on snacks and lots of them. I'm feeling a bit unprepared for this baby.

I know! We need food! I started freezer stashing, but then convinced DH to sell our chest freezer and buy an upright... so now we've been eating everything out of the freezer and depleting my stash! lol. It feels so counterproductive, but I need to empty out the freezer before we sell it, and it won't all fit in the fridge freezer.

Completely off any possible subject -

Had a dream last night that I gave birth to a small white goose.

Anyone else with weird dreams?

I haven't made anything for a freezer stash, like at all. I mean to, but I am really too busy to cook and freeze. I'm gonna survive on granola bars and canned soup, lol.

I have already eaten all of my freezer stash.  I was planning on another "cooking day" before delivery but that doesn't look like it will be happening.

I'm thinking of making a list of foods I would like to have so when people call after the babies come and say "is there anything I can bring you?" I can say "why yes!  please bring me a large pan of veggie lasagna!"  lol

I haven't frozen any meals either...I figured I would focus on that the next few weeks.  I do have a freezer full of grass-fed beef, homemade chicken stock, and truly raw almonds though LOL.  I ordered my birth kit Friday!  Exciting stuff :)  I'm 36 weeks today!

Yeah...I've had the strangest dreams throughout this pregnancy. Can't remember half of them, but they are crrrrrrrazy!

I haven't really had -weird- dreams, but I have had tons of them. On a general basis, I don't dream/don't remember my dreams very often, but I've been having vivid dreams each night.

Sierra-- I found a really good recipe for granola bars, I should make sure it's posted in the freezer thread. There's tons of oatmeal in them, and DH and I added peanut butter. I think they'll be great for breastfeeding.

My mom has made me a couple lasagnas, but all the meatballs and meat loafs, cookies, granola bars, etc that I had made are all in the process of being eaten. My mom said she'd come and do a stash day with me once I'm officially on mat leave though, so fingers crossed we still have time!

I looked it up, just out of curiosity...

Goose

To see a goose in your dream, symbolizes fertility and motherly love. The goose may also represent a message from your unconscious. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are on a "wild goose chase". Perhaps you are going about a problem all wrong.

Fertility and motherly love? Sounds appropriate! I haven't had any really weird dreams since the one where Blobby had a salt & pepper beard, and my mom was holding him and singing "Scary, scary, scary!" in sort of a taunting voice. I got really mad at her, LOL! When I was pregnant with Roland I dreamt that I had a litter of baby baboons and put them all in the washing machine for their bath (it didn't end well) With Caitlin I dreamt that the toilet was a time machine that popped me backwards and XH wouldn't fix it because he wanted me to keep flushing until the house was clean and dinner was ready. I'd been awake for what seemed like days and days and I was hysterical, and he flushed the toilet, disappeared back to work & the baby started crying again! It sounds funny, but it was a really horrible dream, LOL!

We bought a small chest freezer yesterday! The purpose is for my liquid gold (I am going to be pumping like a mad woman from day one this time - I started out like that last time, but, when the freezer got full I slowed down and I think that allowed my supply to drop), but, we should also have space for some food....so hopefully maybe next weekend my mom/sisters can come over and help! I think some of my mommy friends will bring me food and maybe some of the family too...if between everything we can have enough for every other day for 2 weeks that would be awesome...though in all honesty I may need the freezer meals more after going back to work than when the baby is new!

No wierd dreams here....

My family was cool today and helped me clean my house some, and hopefully the girls will help me with the nursery later... we are having a party tonight here, because a friend (side note: our parents met in child birth classes 29 years ago and together developed a very NP/AP playgroup and eventually homeschool group, now many of us are carrying on with our own kids!) of mine is on the Food Network Lego Cake Challenge tonight...so I am going to have a full house and everyone is bringing yummy food - YAY!!! :-)

I got some meds for my itchiness which are taking a little of the edge off, I have my sanity back but I am still really uncomfortable...going in for bloodwork tomorrow, which the expect will come back fine. and I've been taking Tylenol PM so I am finally sleeping - that's probably helping the most, I was an emotional wreck last week!

How much are you all actually "decorating" the baby rooms - if you have one? I am thinking I might try and get more into it this time, but, of course thaqt is money and time...and she might not even use it hardly lol
