Thank you, Pacificbliss!  I am starting November at 177!  Woohoo!  When I don't accidentally expose myself to my allergens, I feel great!  The last few days have been rough, though.  I ate something with casein over the weekend (when it says "may contain traces of milk" they're not kidding).  That causes a pretty quick reaction, but it is usually gone within 18h.  Two days ago, dh brought home some brats to share after class.  He was reading all the labels and they were the only sausage without corn derivatives.  But he didn't realize they had lactate in them.  I should have read the label myself.  Apparently lactose takes longer to react to and much longer for me to clear.  I've felt like I've been run over by a truck for the last two days.  Remembering my 6th pregnancy when I was having serious dairy issues, it took me three days to clear dairy, so I think I should be back to normal tomorrow.  Today is better than yesterday, but I'm still having muscle pain.  Friday I'm going to do a gluten challenge, provided I've completely cleared my most recent reactions.  I haven't yet determined if I'm actually sensitive to gluten.  I'm tired of missing communion at Church though.  I figured I'd just wait until I knew for sure one way or the other to talk to my priest about receiving the Precious Blood only.

I've been able to get about 90 min of exercise for the last few weeks.  Hopefully, I'll be able to increase that.  WiiFit rocks! :D

I'm here. Geez, I frittered away the past month and not done a single thing but maintain my weight. I am having a hard time staying motivated.  There's entirely too much candy and birthday cake lying around. Ugh. I'm going to throw it all out tonight.

mylilmonkeys, I read an article once about how people have dealt with the issue of communion and gf.  Here it is. Maybe it has some tips for you.

Would you guys mind sharing what you eat for breakfast and lunch? I have such a hard time coming up with quick meals, so I just end up eating crap.

Breakfast for me is eggs or sausage and an apple. I find it has the right amount of protein and carbs to keep me full, but if I wait too long for breakfast, I throw myself off.

Lunch is a green salad with chicken or beans.  I think I'll go and cut up vegetables and lettuce tonight so it's ready to go tomorrow.

I usually eat several breakfasts.  I eat A LOT of food, but I'm nursing twins.  I will grab a quick bowl of rice chex (GF) and almond milk, or spread some PB on some rice cakes, sometimes sprinkle with raisins, or cinnamon, or a touch of honey.  Sometimes I'll make a smoothie of protein powder (pea protein, now), almond milk, frozen fruit and/or banana, sometimes a spoon of PB.  The babies usually fall asleep sometime around 10:30-11, and I'll make some eggs or some GF hot rice cereal (Bob's Red Mill).  The cereal tastes a lot like rice pudding, actually.  I usually throw some frozen fruit or raisins into the cereal to add some more nutritional content.  I used to eat yogurt before I went dairy free.  Or cottage cheese with some fruit on top.  Basically, my mornings tend to consist of a protein and a fruit with or without some form of rice.

ETA: thanks for the article!  I'm Catholic, so it'll probably be wine only if I fail the gluten challenge.

Ugh, just maintaining my weight here. Popping in here so I'll feel guilty enough to exercise more! I did go on a nice long walk this evening though.

Awesome weight loss mylilmonkeys! I show you at a 20 lb loss!

homemademom I hear ya. I am having a hard time getting back into it after my vacation and my weight crept up. I love those morningstar farms veggie sausages for breakfast.  I usually just grab 1 and then snack mid-morning on veggies in yogurt dip.

mamapigeon I struggle with getting enough exercise. When I do it though I find that even just sneaking in some squats and running around makes a difference.

Down from 150 (when I joined this thread a couple months ago) to 143 ! Finally some progress. My last update had been 146 but now I am seeing 143 on the scale :) Goal 120 - tho that may be unrealistic- but at least 130! Slow but actual progress.

After posting my intro, I gained four pounds in one month despite logging 800 minutes of cardio in the month! I decided to start counting calories and lost 4.5 pounds in about a week and a half (plus upped exercise). Overall, I have only lost 1/2 pound since joining this thread, but hope to see improved results soon. Counting my calories was VERY eye-opening. I had no idea how much I was really eating. Especially the snacking in between meals. And I had 320 calories in half and half in one day. Heh.

I hear you!  I honestly don't know if I'll ever NOT be able to count calories. I'm not very intuitive (obviously, or I wouldn't be stuck at this weight!) about my eating, so I've got to monitor it somehow.

I've got a goal to lose 7 lbs by Thanksgiving. I'm walking 4 miles 3x a week and counting calories. I need to add some resistance/weights on the off days, like planks, push ups and squats. My current weight is 157, which is down 2 from my starting weight.

At the moment I'm not even sure where my scale is living in transition is tricky.I'm having to use my phone for internet too. So for now I'm just subbing

Alright I have finally gotten down to 195!  I'm excited to see progress but I have been really taking it way to easy these last few weeks.  My 21month old son is starting to sleep better.  I can't wait until he starts sleeping and waking on a more predictable schedule.  He sometimes still wants a bottle or a cuddle in the middle of the night and that makes it harder for me to wake up earlier to exercise.  These last few days he has been battling against a reasonable bedtime.  He would like to go to sleep after ten and I of course want to put him down before nine. Sigh. I really need him to have a predictable routine so that I can get my exercise in in the morning.  I'm to wiped and distracted to do it successfully in the evenings.  I would be thrilled to take off just another ten pounds by the end of the year.

This is what has been good for me about weight watchers. Even when I was counting calories I would tend to make poor choices. Some chocolate candy over a piece of fruit because a calorie is a calorie right? Ugh

I think I will always have to track or at least check in and make sure portions have not been creeping up. My goal is 10 lbs by New Years.

Yay for the loss! I am thinking of weaning my 18 mo DD for the same reason. She wakes in the night and then I am the binky for the rest of the night.

Oh mamas, I have been absent for so long! We started the fall with a round of terrible colds and lengthy recovery, but everyone seems to be healthy again. I have just been so busy trying to figure out how to live life with 3 children ages 4 and under. I am tired and spent!!!

But, the good news is that I am 121#!!!!!!!! I am only 1 pound away from my goal!!! I would love to get down to 110 in the long-term, but I feel great where I am now and will hopefully continue on my healthful path. I am running around 35 miles a week and am right on course with my marathon training. Totally loving it!!

Congrats to all those with losses! I am not actually counting calories, but I have seriously altered my diet over the last few months and don't think I could reasonably cut out anything else at this point. My little one is only 4 months old and drinking up the mama's milk, so I am trying to maintain a decent calorie intake for that. I am only losing about a pound a week and I think that is a healthy way to approach this while breastfeeding.

Homemademom, As far as lunch goes, I pretty much eat the same things... gardenburger patty with salad, chicken salad (nonfat mayo and pickles, shredded chicken - usually leftover from the previous night's dinner) on crackers, 1/2 peanut butter sandwich and an apple, hummus and carrots, boiled egg with toast, etc... easy things like that. I almost always have a yogurt as a snack in the afternoon just before the little ones get up and that helps tremendously with my craving for sweets.

Breakfast is always the same - hard boiled egg, piece of fruit and 1/2 peanut butter toast. Every day. I am so boring orngtongue.gif

Apparently counting calories, in addition to exercise, is the way to go! I lost 7 pounds in one week. Weighed in today at 182!

Congrats!!!

I decided that I need a low-carb kick in the pants. I need to detox from all the candy and grains I've been bingeing on. I feel tons better today after vegetable frittata this morning and salad for lunch.

I think I may need to lower my carbs too. I've been living on toast with nutella, delicious but I feel kind of sick now whenever I eat.  I think I'm going to make a bunch of small portion meals and freeze them. I'm going nuts portion wise.

Congratulations on all the weight losses!

Oh Nutella! That is one of my great weaknesses!! I could just scoop it out of the container and eat it all day eat.gif

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!

As of yesterday, I have officially made my goal weight of 120#!!!!!!!!!!!!! joy.gif

I then promptly set a new goal of 110!

I am so darn proud of myself!
Wow, congrats to all those who are losing so well!!joy.gif

I haven't posted in a while, but I've been sticking with eating healthy, running and lifting weights. I'm down another 3lbs since last posting.

My weight today was 136lbs which is only a pound away from my goal!!joy.gif I think I still might need to lose another 5lbs or so, but at this point I'm really more interested in continuing to improve my running/strength training and find myself not caring so much what the scale says... although I'm mildly curious where I'll end up at.
