Postpartum Weight Loss- November - Page 2

joy.gifCongrats to those nearing and reaching their goals!  How exciting!

I'm down to 173 this week.  I didn't even manage to find time to exercise, because I spend almost all my time in the kitchen cooking everything from scratch these days.  I was put on a total elimination diet by my GP to weed out whatever it is I'm still reacting to.  It's been intense, but I'm dealing with it.  The kids aren't too happy because I'm mostly putting them on the same diet at home.  They still have milk and a little bread because we get those through WIC, but my next appt is first week of Dec and hopefully I'll get on an allergy friendly plan.  I've lost just over 10lbs since going gluten/dairy free.  I'm also comfortably fitting into my smallest pair of pants.  I'll need to go shopping soon if this keeps up. ;)

I have been away for a long time. But I am restarting my weight loss efforts. I am down to 177. Sloww and steady , thats my new mantra.

I weighed in today and lost a bit more. I have now lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks and weighed in at 179. I am really excited about this and actually fit comfortably into a pair of pants that I could not even get buttoned a month ago!

Way to go, ladies!!

I'm moving along more slowly than I'd like.  Even with low carbing, it's not coming off very quickly.  The good thing is that I'm not constantly hungry and feeling like I must eat everything in sight, but still.  Dh is eating low carb with me, which makes it easier to stick to. We're going to low carb through Thanksgiving (we're not big fans, so it won't be too difficult) and then reassess.  I'm down to 153, which is just 4 lbs down from when I started 2 weeks ago. Calorie counting would probably have yielded better results. . . but then, I'd probably be a lot hungrier, too.

Finally figured out my last food sensitivity.  I'm pretty sure  it's refined sugar.  The kefir recipe I was following used white sugar, so I was drinking it every morning and reacting with  sore glands in my throat and a headache.  Course, the evening after I cut out the sugar, I come down with a cold with a sore throat.  It's starting to subside a little today.  I weighed in at 172 this morning, too!  I hope next week I can get back to exercising a little.

joy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifCongratulations to all of you at or near your goal!

Also, I am loving all the activity on this thread. Sorry I have been absent. We had a stomach bug tear through the house. The good news is it got me back down to the weight listed here. We will see if it sticks or is just water. Can't recommend that path to weight loss though. Ick

Sicky mamas, I hope you are feeling better!!

How was Thanksgiving? Did you guys indulge or calorie restrict for the holiday? I definitely indulged, but I also ran 8 miles on Thanksgiving and 7 miles yesterday and today. I had to show my metabolism that it can overeat a little and I will make up for it with exercise! It will become increasingly hard, though, as the holiday season gets under way and people start making all sorts of delicious treats. I am getting a little nervous!

Any tips for coping with the holiday eating frenzy?!!

Well, I was going to go for a run today but I ate a turkey sandwich and stuffing instead. That was after the pumpkin pie for breakfast. Honestly, I think the only strategy that works for me is tossing out the sweets. Allow myself the day, enjoy it, then send it all packing.

I managed to lose almost 1.5 pounds over the Thanksgiving weekend. !  I was very satisfied with my elimination diet approved Thanksgiving, though it seemed my mil was a little put out that I brought my own food. "What, couldn't she have eaten the Turkey?"  Yeah.  Dh made me a gluten free pumpkin pie custard with honey and maple syrup instead of sugar.  I'm almost to my first goal weight!

quick update here. We went a few weeks in the RV without a fridge. We just recently got a mini fridge from a freecycler. I need to figure out where to take the RV into so it can be repaired. Not having the convenience of a full kitchen has left me feeling slimmer. Since my scale is currently in storage I'm not sure how much I weigh. Congrats to everyone who is reporting weightloss!
