Looking for VBAC midwife in South Jersey (Cumberland/Gloucester County)

I'm newly pregnant and am looking to find a midwife that does VBAC's. I used Dr. Leisa O'Flynn when I was pregnant with my son (ended up having an emergency c-section), and was planning to use her partner (Patty Madden) this time. I love Patty and had an appointment set up to see her next week, but just had someone from the office call to tell me that she's started her own practice. She only works out of Elmer now (they unfortunately do not accept VBAC patients) and The RMC (I definitely do not want to deliver there).

Does anyone know of a good midwife who will do VBAC's, and has privileges somewhere other than Elmer and The RMC? I'm pretty sure Karen Shields only works out of those hospitals too.

I'm currently in Cumberland County but am willing to travel to Gloucester County too.

TIA!

My 2nd and 3rd dds were both VBACs and I used the UMNDJ-SOM Midwives at Kennedy-Washington Twp. I had really nice experiences with both pg/births and felt supported in the whole VBAC experience. At one point one of my appointments ended up being with Dr. Salerno (one of the group's OBs) due a death in the CNM's family and he was very friendly, gentle, and supportive as well. I also saw Dr. Bramble once when the CNMs were all tied up catching babies, and she was a sweetheart too. Overall, it seemed like the OBs in that group viewed the CNMs as collegues, unlike a previous practice from a different hospital I went to with my first dd, where the CNMs were definately second class citizens.

The hospital staff at KMH-W was really nice too, and the IBCLC who popped in was excited to see I had a copy of Mothering!

Depending on where you are in CumbCo, Washington Twp should be pretty feasible.

I think it sucks that Elmer doesn't "do" VBACs, because from what my doula friends tell me the staff there would be the most supportive of a VBAC given their focus on natural birth.

Enjoy your pg and birth!
