I am wanting to do a homebirth but ahaving trouble finding a midwife. Do a lot of people do unassisted homebirths? What are some good movies about homebirth that me and my husband can watch to prepare for this?

When you say SD, are you talking about South Dakota? If so, I may be able to help with the midwife search. I just wanted to clarify and make sure you didn't mean San Diego.

I know one but you will have to go out of south dakota....

There are two that practice in South Dakota, but they're on opposite ends of the state. My midwife is in the southeast part of the state but I know she's going to Pierre for a birth and I live in the northeast part and she's going to make a 2-hour trip for my birth. The other midwife is based out of Spearfish on the west side of the state. There's also a CPM in Minnesota who will meet clients just over the border for births as well.
