Mamas Losing the Baby Weight in November! - Page 3

That makes so much sense about the three month mark being rough! This weekend has been really trying for me, and for no particular reason so this makes SO much sense, thanks for sharing.

I've been feeling so down about my size lately, but today I keep telling myself to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem and its helping me make better food choices. I don't know about you guys but I feel like a hungry bear trying to store up fat for the winter or something. Amazingly over the past few weeks I haven't gained any more pounds, but I haven't lost any either which is so depressing.

I'm jumping back in to this thread again!!

Today I had a Luna Protein Bar for lunch and a HUGE salad for dinner with chicken. And now I'm craving cheese and crackers but I'm going to resist!!! For breakfast I had a pumpkin munchkin from Dunkin Donuts and a HUGE coffee! And, walked a mile in half an hour with DP and DD in the stroller.

It's hard enough to feel good when the weight isn't coming off as fast as we'd like. Add in these crazy hormones and unstable emotions and it's a wonder we can get through the day sometimes. If that three month thing is right, that totally explains why I'm having such a hard time staying focused right now. This is just HARD!

Great job on the walk today. Pushing two in a stroller is no easy feat!

Sorry for so many posts all in a row. I'm on my phone and tapatalk doesn't allow multi-quoting.

So, I think I may have gone too far in the other direction today. I am trying to make up for my couple days of gluttony by staying just inside my daily points total and now I still have 25 points left after dinner and a glass of wine. Oops. I see ice cream in my near future smile.gif

Here's what I've had today so far:

B; oatmeal, apple, coffee,lactation tea

L: turkey wrap in spinach lavash with laughing cow light cheese as a spread, carrots

D: baked breaded chicken breast strips and mashed sweet potatoes, glass of red wine

Total points: 18
Activity points: 2--about 10 min of core and glute exercises.

Ladies I am in trouble.  I got the birth control shot the other day and I have been starving ever since.  This so isn't in my mind, I can fully understand now how women gain on this method of birth control.  Plus I am exhausted from my anxiety meds, so I can't survive my work outs.  I am gaining and it sucks.  I feel stuck and blah.  This is the first time I have ever struggled with losing baby weight and I am not liking it at all.  I guess I just needed to vent today. :-/

hey Melaya, I am so there with ya. Struggling stinks.

Feeling completely overwhelmed here. I signed up last week at WW and they forgot to give me a point tracker/slider thing, so its practically impossible for me to figure things out. So I've been writing things down and just trying to eat nutritionally dense foods. But my frozen mocha, which is like a lifeline right now, creeps in almost every day. :( Thursday I didn't have it and I was a puddle on the floor. Literally, crying at my girls gymnastics class. NOT GOOD.

Ugh. I am trying.

I'm snacking a lot more than usual, and I added lecithin granules in to help with these clogged ducts and point wise they equal 9 points.  I'm just not going to count them.  Whatever.  I just won't take them every day.

And damn that halloween candy!!

And damn peanut butter on a spoon!!!

But, overall, still hanging in there.  I'm thinking...I don't know if I'll count points on Thanksgiving.  I think I'll just eat what I want and deal.  If I do well every other day that week, it should be fine, right?  If I play my cards right, this weeks weigh in should put me at 151 ish, and I *might* make it to 149 the week of T-giving.  I can't WAIT to see that 4!!

CCL - the pill made me put weight on fast!  I can only imagine what the shot does.  I hope soon things even out and you can get back to eating normally.

Auto - OMGosh, you can't DO WW w/o knowing point values.  Can you access the website for point values until your next meeting?

Today:

Morning - Coconut milk yogurt, coffee (2 cups); 1/2 homemade cc/banana muffin; pb on spoon

Midday - FR Frank on wrap; carrots; diet coke; some leftover candy;

Evening - hummus on 1/2 pita; diet iced tea

Anytime

I still have 12 points left today, so I really need to brainstorm dinner...

I'm so glad I decided to not focus on the scale and rather on getting my core back. The exercises the PT gave me have been great...really feeling the burn! I'm going to try and do PT twice a week, PT exercises nightly, and a wii workout (I do various games for about an hour) three times a week. That should help my energy level a lot without obsessing about the scale. Last time I had a baby I lost all the weight but didn't gain back my core and it sucked.

Can you elaborate?  I'm not doing anything other than walks and running.  I suck.  I checked for ab separation and I've got barely 1 finger width -- but still.  I want to have everything strong, too!!

I have a list of about 8 things I do. They gave me a resistance band that I use for two of them. I'll give you what they say on my printout and you can google the exercises. I did one and found it at numerous websites. My ab separation is almost none (pretty damned good for four kids!) But lower deep core strength is poor.

These with resistance band:
AAROM shld flx uni w/elastic (only do it from straight in front and down, not up. Don't lock knees.) 2 sets of 10, 1 rep every 4sec, alternate sets with the next exercise.
Resist shld ext bil alt stand w/elastic (but I draw back like a bow and arrow instead, alternating sides) sets/rep same as above.

The following on an exercise ball preferably:
AROM thoracic sidebend (1 rep every 4sec, one set of 10/day)
AROM lumbar pelvic rotn sit w/ ball (1 rep every 4sec, one set of 10/day)
Stretch thoracic rotn sit (1 set of 2 reps, hold rep for 20sec.

Bridge Neutral (the one on your back lifting pelvis) 1 set of 10min, 1 rep every 4sec.
Sun Salutation:
From downward dog, go into plank, keeping shoulders broad, abs in, tailbone down. Hold 4sec. Do 3 reps, one set. (don't go into cobra)
Behind Back Hand Clasp (basically just stretching your triceps)

Those are the home exercises. They give me a mild ab burn if I really focus on quality of the exercise (not locking knees, tailbone down, lower abs engaged)
At PT she has me do the same + the bike. Hope that helps!

How do you check for ab separation?

I lie on the floor, and do a crunch. Keep yourself up and feel along your midline (up and down) If you feel a gap between muscles then you've still got some separation (where your belly separated to let baby grow!) With my second who was 9.5lbs almost it took a lot longer to come back together.

Thanks Jill. I'll have to try that tomorrow. I'm very curious.

I have been such a slug lately. I registered to run in a turkey trot 5k on TG morning and I haven't even gone for a run since Friday. It's gonna be bad...very bad. I'm hoping to get out and run tomorrow afternoon. I'm taking the boys to the zoo in the morning with an AP mommies group that I just discovered. At least I'll be walking at the zoo.

As for food:

B: oatmeal, banana, coffee

L: ww penne with meat sauce, pretzel thins,

S: oatmeal squares, red bell pepper

D: egg, ham, pepper, onion burritos on ww tortillas (2)

S: oatmeal

Total points: 45

Activity: 2 points--some serious housecleaning today.

Thanks for that list Jill!  I'm going to start working on this stuff.  My weight loss is slowing down, and I think I'm going to have to focus more on strength anyway.  I want to work on my arms too.

So, cruddy weigh in today.  Only down .8.  Boo!  But in all fairness, I didn't make good choices this week.  I always stayed within my points, but I did get wendy's fries and we had pizza and breadsticks the other night.  I'm having wine more often, and just overall not being as strict.  So.  Need to work on that.

My C25K is going well though (You can do it Erica!!)  I did one 20 min run straight thru and didn't die.

Someone gave me an ipod for free!  It's the first one I have ever owned so I am really excited.  I downloaded all of my Pimsleur tracks on it and now I take really long walks while studying my languages.  I can see me losing some weight and toning up this way.  Especially when I have the baby in the Ergo.  So just maybe I am not doomed because of the birth control shot...though it is still making me eat much more than usual. :-/

What languages are you studying?  I have recently started listening to music on my walks.  At first I just enjoyed the quiet and nature sounds...but I am SO SICK of walking around this darn subdivision that I've decided if I can at least change the soundtrack to my walks it is more interesting.  I could walk elsewhere, but that would involve packing the baby and all his stuff in the car and I usually don't feel like it.

I've been starting to have some back pain when walking with Anton in the Ergo irked.gif  The Ergo still feels fine for general baby-carrying purposes (grocery store, etc) but on a long walk my back hurts by the end.  Sometimes I take him in the stroller instead.

I just did this and I have a one finger gap. I guess I can thank my 11 pound baby.

I haven't exercised for about 3 weeks. I was hyper focused on cleaning before my MIL's visit. I didn't exercise while she was here and I've just been down in the dumps this week. Tonight, though, I'll get a workout in. I'll also have DH pick up a new battery for the scale and hope the thing isn't broken. I'm afraid that when I weigh myself again, I'll cry. But I have lost some weight because I can fit into my size 4 Lucky jeans with a bit of pooch. I desperately want the pooch to be gone! Desperately... I think my lowest before my scale broke was 141 or 142, so I never made it to the 130s even at that point and my goal is 120.

So many congrats to all who are losing.

CCL, congrats on the ipod! That's super cool!

I review Spanish, Norwegian, and Swedish.  And I am currently trying to grasp Arabic which is going not so great lol.  I could never take walks before either.  I would get bored within minutes.  But now having the ipod has totally changed that for me and I am so happy because of it.  Three birds with one stone: kid gets amused, I get exercise, and I study my languages. :)

Wow, CCL! I wish I could learn so many languages! That's awesome!

I reviewed my older posts and it seems I was 10 pounds off in my memory of my last weight. I made it down to between 132-134 as of 09/30, 12-14 pounds above my goal weight, and, like I said, I know I've lost some weight in the 1 1/2 months since then.

I do want to tone like crazy and also rid myself of the dreadful pooch, though.

omg. i am SO SORE. My PT is really pushing me (I asked her to...only get free PT until the end of the year!) and I can def. feel the burn. I love that I'm focusing on strength and not weight loss. I still have like 15lbs to go, and it's stalled, but I know I'm gaining major muscle right now. Worried about next week though...lol. I'll make sure to make a huge fruit salad because I can big out all I want on that!
