Please don't mention cupcakes in front of the pregnant women lol.gifeat.gif

Anyone else planning on going the DIY Christmas present route this year?  I am planning to cook some sweets to send out (and either a soy candle or a reed diffuser if I can figure out how to ship the oil without it leaking massively), but I have a feeling I will have to cook up a lot of sweets to make up for the amount that I will be "sampling".

I'm seriously craving sweets like NO OTHER. In the first trimester it was meat. Second trimester it was root beer. Now that I'm nearing the end..pass me the cake, cheesecake, cookies, candy..OMG. I sometimes use cereal to fill the 'void' but I really want bakery..donuts, apple fritters, anything..oh dear I'm hungry.

This thread is making me gain more weight just by READING yummy.gif

I feel like a total cow.  Complete with farm animal sounds.

I'm 32 weeks and have gained 74lbs. so far.  No, it's not twins.  I'm very lucky thus far that my blood pressures are perfect, no protein in my urine, I passed my glucose test with flying colors, and my pulse and baby's heartbeat are awesome.  I gained 10 lbs. in 2 weeks of water weight.  I'm sooooo swollen.  The edema is really getting to me.  I don't know how much more weight I can gain before I burst like Veruca Salt.

My MW asked me to keep a food journal to double check that I am not overeating, which I'll admit to in the first trimester when I was on strict bedrest for 14 weeks (due to a threatened miscarriage and severe bleeding).  But after bedrest was over my weight gain slowed severely and I was barely gaining at all until the third trimester hit.

Hopefully I lose some after birth.  I also bought a jogging stroller, and my husband is getting me a lifetime fitness membership .  I know I'll take it off...hopefully....eventually.  I miss my "regular girl" clothes, and my high heels are getting dusty:(

Had my weigh-in Friday at the mw's... 198 lbs, which is 52 lbs. from where I started this pregnancy.  I'm not looking forward to hitting the big "two-double o", but I can tell this kid is getting bigger and stronger by the day, so I'm OK with the whole process...

You will lose a lot just there in the delivery room! That is one thing I am trying to remind myself of- The last birth, I literally lost 20 pounds or more the day I pushed him out...which makes me wonder "Was I made of water for 9 months?" Especially if you're swollen, that sounds to me like lots of water weight that will disappear very quickly. No swelling here though, so I'm starting to wonder if I'm all "fat" this time around :-/

And about the jogging stroller- something I'll be doing too. I need to find one with 3 seats!

i have a three-seat jogger.  i've had two of them, honestly- had to send the first one back, because it was really misaligned upon delivery.  those suckers are really expensive!  (and there's not many options to choose from)

in my experience, they're good for young triplets, but not so great for older kids.  they end up being extremely heavy, and i think that an uneven weight distribution is hard not only on the structure of the stroller itself, but your knees!  i really busted my knee up pretty badly, and had to take a good 6 months off of strenuous exercise.  i don't know if the same thing would have happened if i bought the top-of-the-line model (i think mine was in the $700 range), but i couldn't afford to spend any more than that.

anyway, i know it's off-topic of the thread's subject, and maybe someone else has had better experience with a triple jogger, but for me, expecting to push my two older kids with a baby just wasn't a workable option.  it was a major, major bummer.

I am now gaining about 2 pounds a week! blush.gif  At this point, I am beginning to be at peace with it, as I can see by how big my belly is getting that this baby is growing by leaps and bounds.  I will end up gaining more than I would have liked, but I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel for sure.

DDCC... I gained about 45 lbs with my daughter. I got pretty tired of all of the rhetoric about how i was gaining OMG TOO MUCH. AFAIK I had no blood sugar problems, and my daughter and I are both in perfect health now. I was starving all the time, so I ate! My mom gained a lot with me too. I think this was just the way my body operated when making babies.

Well, I thought I'd update my place in this thread. I was doing pretty well...32lbs at my 32w appt......but then, I apparently gained almost 8lbs in water....YAY! I'm now up 40lbs at 35w4d. Damn. Oh well. At least I know it's not all fat. I took off my socks yesterday and you could see my ankle bones. There was this huge ridge right above my sock line and my calves were filled to the brim with water! So attractive. I looked like an elephant. I have been much more hungry these last few days but I'm going on 3-4 hours of sleep (damn insomnia) so I think I'm eating more for more energy to get me through the day. It's nice to know that people think I look amazing pregnant. They say wow, you look exactly the same but you have a big belly. Not quite folks, not quite but it's not like I'm going to take my clothes off to prove them wrong pinktongue.gif

I'm at 35.5 weeks and I've gained 46 pounds.  Holy smokes!!!  I'm just really, really hungry.  I gained about this much with DD total and lost it all pretty easily, so I'm not that worried.  I will say those numbers are quite a shock though!  Good thing we have a Y membership and that their childcare is awesome.

At 33 weeks I'm gained about 33 pounds....I gained 33 lbs total with DS1 but felt soooo huge at that point with him.  I don't feel like that now - all the weight seems to be in my belly, no swelling/water weight.  The bummer is that I started this pregnancy at least 10 pounds lighter than I did last time, but my ending weight will probably be the same.  Bummer.

I just saw my midwife and she told me that watermelon, cucumbers, and parsley are the best natural diuretics if you are having water issues!  :)

YES!  My midwife also recommended these for water retention and the cucumber seems to be working (i'm not a fan of watermelon so haven't tried that).

Brrrrr... Watermelon and cucumbers during this time of year??  Isn't there a nice warm tea we can drink that would have the same effect?

Well, despite my completely absent appetite, I'm up 36 lbs at 34 weeks.  I am dismayed that my poundage has finally outpaced my weeks of gestation.  Grumble.  It is weird how totally different I am in shape this time though-- last time I got kinda fat all over and this time I'm all belly and carrying way higher.  Still hopeful that I'll fall a little shy of the 55 lbs I gained with my first son, but now my goal is more like "maybe only 45" instead of "maybe as little as 35!"

I think I've seen parsley tea... somewhere.  It doesn't sound that great but hey, better than bloating, right?  :)

I've gained 60 lbs. I'm at 205 lb as of my appointment yesterday. I don't really care at this point...because I've only gone up about one size in Pants and I'm pretty sure my shirts still fit besides being way to short on my belly. I also went from a c cup to a g cup. So, I'm just going to say I'm fat and happy. I'm 36+ 3 and MW said she would guess my baby weighs about 6.5 lbs already. :) I also wake up hungry in the middle of the night, actually sometimes twice! I really am always just so hungry and I eat healthy. But, i do snack from time to time. I'm really just not stressing and enjoying my pregnancy... :)
