When Do I Need To Seek Help?

I am 38 and DH is 41. We have two children that were conceived with ovulation predictors. To my knowledge I've never had a miscarriage although my sister had four as well as four children.

DD is 2y2m and still nurses at night but not really during the day. DS was nursing round the clock when DD was conceived at 35. I've had my period back since she was 4 months.

But I have doing OP tests several months now and am begining to freak out about our ages. At what point might I need to seek that vague thing "help." Also, DH is fairly reluctant on the whole third child issue anyway. Needing a lot of medical intervention will probably tip him over the age. Is there anything I should be doing to increase my odds? I really really want a third child and I feel like time is slipping away.

I've heard that after 6 cycles of trying with OP kits at age 35 or older, it's time to run some tests.

This is what I did--and the tests were useful for us. The longer you wait the harder it is for the "help" to work when you need it. At least if your dr. tests things (thyroid, estrogen, fsh, amh...dunno what else) you have a place to start.
