I wish I had time to post more and reply to more individual posts! Things have been so busy at work and as soon as I get home I've just been plopping on the couch without even enough energy to type haha!
Astria, I have a super easy pot roast recipe for you. I was nervous about even attempting pot roast, but this recipe is not only easy but also pretty much impossible to mess up. You need to buy Lipton Onion Soup (the dry soup packets) and the recipe is on the back of the box.
1 tsp oil
3 pound boneless beef pot roast
4 carrots sliced
4 potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
2 envelopes Lipton onion soup mix
3/4 cup water
Chop the veggies and toss them into the crock pot. Quickly brown the roast on a skillet (for like 3 minutes) to hold in the moisture, then place the roast on top of the veggies in the crock pot. Mix the water with the soup mix and pour on top of the veggies and meat. Cook on low in the crock pot for 8-10 hours. Done! Add an onion for extra flavor, if desired :-)
Janelle, my friend's sister just had a gender-reveal party too.The catch was, the pregnant mama didn't even know what she was having! She had the ultrasound tech write it on a piece of paper and stick it in an envelope, which mama gave to her best friend. The best friend planned the whole thing and when the gender was revealed, even the parents-to-be were surprised! It was a lemons and limes themed party. Yellow and green balloons everywhere. Drinks with lemons and limes. Guests instructed to wear yellow and green. Then, she had a giant yellow and green box that was filled with helium balloons. When mama-to-be opened the box, tons of blue balloons floated out to reveal that she was having a boy. Then they all ate cake with blue in the middle of course. I thought it was a pretty neat idea.
Choco and Linnie, I am the opposite - I can't stand ice water! only room temperature for me!
Linnie & Shastilily, it is interesting about bonding after you know the gender. I have always found out the gender right away, and like you said, I felt really bonded at that point. I picked out a name and felt like I knew who was in there, you know? But this time, my hubby really wants to wait and be surprised at the birth. I wonder how/if that will change my bonding throughout the pregnancy.
