3yo with low grade fever for 3 days, and sores in her mouth

I get obsessed around illness - always need to figure out what things are. LOL

My DD got a low-grade fever on Friday night and has been burning it since - never more than 100.something, but steady. She hasn't wanted to eat or drink much and acts like her mouth really hurts. I thought it was her throat, but now I see she has inflamed gums and some pin-head size white bumps on the tip of her tongue and one on her lip.

I have been trying to figure out what kind of virus this is... A lot of what I read points to herpes simplex infection or hand-foot-mouth, but neither fits completely. I will probably get her seen early this week, especially if the fever persists.

Anyone seen something like it - have any suggestions? She is eating ice cream, drinking ice water and boy oh boy do I wish I still lactated!

Hand, foot, and mouth. The symptoms can vary quite a bit. My DD had low grade fever and a few mouth sores. That's it.
